A group of Indian activists has denounced Israel's "undemocratic and exclusionary regime of apartheid" towards Palestine, as India welcomed Israeli President Reuven Rivlin for a weeklong state visit.

"India’s economic linkage with Israel, channels our public money through military deals to Israeli arms companies that transform these funds in to lethal military technology applied in the oppression, colonisation and ethnic cleansing, of the Palestinian people," the group of 70 individuals and 30 organisations said.

"We are shocked that Israel, with its lawless conduct has emerged as role model for the Indian nation-state, born in the struggle against colonialism and committed to peaceful relations in the neighbourhood."

The criticism coincided with a welcome speech given by Indian President Shri Pranab Mukherjee in a state dinner hosted for Rivlin on Tuesday.

Mukherjee said India admires "the people of Israel for all that you have accomplished", according to a transcript of his speech released on Wednesday.

"We both have remained firmly committed to democratic values and continue to strive for our common goals of global security and peace," he said.

Rivlin is the first Israeli president to visit India in 20 years, and it comes as the two countries celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations.

Kashmir and Palestine: The story of two occupations

The group of activists also warned against Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi's reported visit to Israel, saying "there is nothing to celebrate" about the relationship, "neither for the Palestinian people now for Indian citizens who cherish human rights, democracy and peace."

The group said that Israel is "using" the Indian market and tax money "to finance its crimes and to promote world views built on walls, wars, and exclusion."

'Defence deals'
On Tuesday, the two countries announced they are expanding cooperation particularly in the defence sector.

Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Rivlin's trip would give a "crucial push" to bilateral ties.

India has purchased an estimated $12bn worth of defence equipment from Israel over the past decade, making it the third-largest supplier to India after Russia and the United States.

India and Israel had also decided to intensify cooperation in fighting terrorism and boosting trade and investment, Modi said.

Meanwhile, Rivlin said his visit "will help the ties and the cooperation between the two countries."

Rivlin is accompanied by delegations of businessmen and academics for his weeklong visit.

seems your Mullahs are traitors, they claim to fight for Palestinians yet they have close ties with India(a country which according to opinion polls is the most pro Israeli country in the world, and who has been one of Israel's closest and most loyal ally and Israel's biggest military export market supporting Israeli defence industry). How to square that?
If your leaders had any honor they will cut off all ties with India for its Israeli policies and stance.:D

NB: I'm merely using some people's logic(sarcasm).:enjoy:

no they don't india stole money from iran at the height of obama's admin, and mullahs have been struggling to get that money back :D

no one cares for palestinians in iran , except maybe a few people who intend to attend anti israeli rallies for the sole purpose of obtaining free cookies and / or orange juice

If your leaders had any honor they will cut off all ties with India for its Israeli policies and stance.:D

NB: I'm merely using some people's logic(sarcasm).:enjoy:

our leaders are not that stupid , unlike your leader Teresa may , who wants to quit the EU for no good reason at all

lool Really?? Seems the Mullahs have been fooling the world with propaganda then, since judging by their constant rants, actions and media campaign, people will think Iranians are all obsessed with Israel and Palestinian affairs(which funny enough is none of their business). lol
People attend Israeli rallies there for the only purpose of free Cookies and orange juice?? Interesting :D

We the people had our reason for quitting the E.U though. Plus, for your infos Our current P.M Theresa May(was not just too vocal about it) just like the former one David Cameron were all in favor of us staying in the E.U(even though they know it has many faults and shortfalls for Britain) its we the people who decided to leave. You see, that's how things work in a a real democracy, leaders can't always have their way in elections/referendums.:victory1:
Plus despite the gloomy predictions and fear mongering the remainers were predicting( and are still carrying on for obvious reasons. lol ) , we are still the fastest growing economy in the G7, and our unemployment rate is at record low and people around the world still want to immigrate here for a better life.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37997713

Plus we haven't left Europe we will still carry on trading, doing business and carrying out military cooperation, we left just the E.U(there are European countries who are not part of the E.U like Norway and Switzerland but who have one of the highest living standards in the world). So Life continues.:)

Anyway, E.U topic is along one. Don't wanna go off topic, it will require a new long thread for that.:enjoy:

But with someone like trump in charge , Britian is screwed in the greater sense of the matter , don't you agree ..
And i know the reasons better , you had too many polish immigrants in the UK , that's why Trump got elected afterwards

screw real democracy i'm sure my standards of living in iran are better than at least half of the people in britain , scotland and ireland .. :D :D

Nope, we do have very close ties and interests in Israel. Plus we also have historical ties as the former colonial power of both countries(Palestine and Israel) and we played a crucial role in Israel reestablishing it's state back in the region during our rule. Plus, we are Israel's 2nd largest trading partner after the U.S( and Israel is one of our largest trading partner in the middle east) with a trade value of over $10billion a year as of 2015 and growing very fast, if you don't know that. Similarly, Israel is the UK's fourth largest market in the Middle East and North Africa. Many Israeli high tech companies are also present ans investing in Britain ans vice versa. etc etc Both countries enjoy very close trade, business and technological ties and cooperation. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...ost-UK-firms-profit-Middle-East-commerce.html
Moreover, we are both cooperating and exchanging information/experience in the fight against Islamic terrorism in the region. So we have an interests and stake in keeping both country free of conflict and instability. So we have alot of interest to protect there, hence more say than Iran should have.lol
Despite all these you don't see our leaders making empty radical rhetorics everyday about this conflict like yours do. lol Things can always be done more calmly and diplomatically. No need to rant. :D:P

But with someone like trump in charge , Britian is screwed in the greater sense of the matter , don't you agree ..
And i know the reasons better , you had too many polish immigrants in the UK , that's why Trump got elected afterwards
old boyyyyy, seems you need to read more dude. You seem to be rather naive about many issues outside Iran. lol
If anything Trump is even more Britain friendly than Obama by farrrrrrr. Trump was in favour(one of the only leaders in the world) of Britain leaving the E.U thus it will only strengthen our negotiating position these coming years vis a vis the E.U, and he has many times talk in favor of Britain in many aspect. If anything he is far better for Britain than Obama ever was.

Trump himself is Scottish by origin(seems you don't even know that),eventhough he has a complex relation with Scotland, he has been to Scotland several times and he is a proud anglophile.. He even has a massive gulf course and other investments in Scotland and Britain. Funny enough , he is the best candidate Britain could have as U.S president. :agree: It's ironic but true:lol:

screw real democracy i'm sure my standards of living in iran are better than at least half of the people in britain , scotland and ireland .. :D :D
Is this a joke? You are one of the poorest countries in the middle east despite all your massive oil and gas reserves(one of the largest in the world) dude. You people should have an even higher or at least same GDP per capital/living standards with Gulf countries. Your people are immigrating and seeking asylum in U.K,U.S, and E.U with any opportunity they have and you are here saying silly things. Just yesterday Spanish authorities discovered Iranian Kurd (women, men and children) in the back of a retail truck, they paid to be smuggled to Britain ans thought they were bound for Britain. :disagree: I feel for them to be honest. Hopefully sanity will prevail and the Islamist Mullah's will open up(your current president seems to be a good and pragmatic leader, and wants to open up the country which is a good start, hopefully radicals will let him do his job).
