Israel unviels new 100kW laser system with 3.5USD cost per interception

What is endurance of this system?

Can it be overwhelmed by "saturation"?

Dependent on electricity......directed ECM can probably shut this system down if it's outside the range of this system.

The system probably also can't work during rain, snowfall or/& cloudy, heavy weather.

Saturation attacks can take out any/everything. Since this and all laser systems are LOS (line of sight), anything that approaches it from non-LOS can creep up on it.

Missiles/shells can also be hardened against laser effect. ;)

Lasers exist, but not with the capability expressed in the animation. Even if it does exist simple countermeasures will make it ineffective.
What capabilities that were expressed in that video seem unrealistic? Besides that "Drone shooting down rocket behind it" thing.
Well, tell me about those countermeasures? And will Hamas and Hezbollah be able to mount them on their rockets?

Is it true, a piece of mirror can defeat multi billion laser weapons ?

The drone cannot carry enough power to knock down a missile, you need a high energy laser and drone is not large enough to carry the power pack required to knock down the missile.

that's why It'll be mounted on Hercules aircraft first probably

It should be much faster than Iron Dome for instance.
The interception itself should be done in a matter of a few seconds.
now u take several of those systems, combine them with Iron Dome, and Hercules mounted laser systems above the clouds and u get a complete-cheap, system that can work in all weather conditions

The main question is how many bursts of Laser can be fired before the power pack is discharged completely before the carrier itself becomes vulnerable? Also simple countermeasures can render it ineffective.

This information is probably classified, also we should see this system operational in 2 years so I guess they already figured this out.
As for vulnerablies, you'll have to be more detailed about them.
Heavy rainy condition - Aircraft mounted system and Iron Dome batteries should complement this situation (it's the middle east after all so)
Line of Sight - Can intercept faster than most current interceptors out there (probably faster than Iron Fist and Trophy)
Charges - unlimited if connected to power plant.
Mirrored Objects? - wont really work interfere against such high powered laser

I was thinking more in line with thermal shield material that would also scatter the beam (sort of a mirrored surface).

Iron Dom:

In the late 90s there were plans of two concurrent systems. One with the system we all know today, based on rockets. And one system based on laser. But the system based on laser was not taken cause the US did only gave money for the rocket system of today.

Too many environmental variables that can't be controlled. Getting the laser to work at extended ranges becomes a problem as focusing the beam on parts that matter is difficult. How would it target a Ghauri ICBM?

Missile manufacturers can just compensate by strengthening parts that matter. All the while making a saturation attack makes the system useless. Cost per interception is just dumb and misleading. Taking out a Ghauri sized ICBM would take at least require a dedicated grid system feeding power to a network of laser systems.

The system is for CRAM and for CRAM you only need focussing on at distance of 2-3 km. It already was demonstrated by MDBA years ago when they shoot down a steel ball fired by a mortar.

The enviromental variables arent the difficulty. You can sum them up in a calculated loss per km. I have a pdf where you can see it, but it is written in german. Maybe you can translate it.
