Israel worked behind the scenes to ensure the United States blocked the sale of its F-35 stealth fighter jets to Turkey as part of its efforts to preserve its military qualitative edge in the region, Channel 12 reported Wednesday.

Turkey would be acquiring the f35 if they did not buy s400. They might yet still. Customers of the f35 are very few and far between and are needed badly, that's why the Gulf countries are now being recruited. Israel is not relevant on this issue.

What Isreal did or did not has no value or importance! We have TFX program! Correct on all counts. F-35 is a great jet. Turks could have bargained for THAAD. No russian or chinese technology will ever come close to f-22 and f-35.

If russians and chinese are not able to make f-35 equivalent , what makes you think TFX will be any better than F-35.

This will, in the long term, be a blessing in disguise, as Turkish TFX program will be in production, and through that program that Turkey will be self sufficient when it comes to stealth technology.

There is also another factor: Turkish foreign policy is independent. It is this independence that the powers that be don't like.
