Israel Keen on Investing in Bengal

Israel is keen on making investment in West Bengal, besides sharing its technology with the state, as part of intensifying the country's bilateral relations with India, Israeli Ambassador to India Alon Ushpiz said.

"We are ready to invest, particularly in agriculture and agro-based industries in the state, and share our technology with the state for its development," Ushpiz told reporters here after meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat Writers' Buildings.

During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Ushpiz also took note of the various steps already initiated by the state government for development in areas like animal resources development, dairy, food processing industries and agriculture.

He also said that Israel could help the state with its expertise in dryland farming with the use of minimum water.

Israel has also the technology of producing power by using minimum water which could help the state for its power projects.

Also India and Israel have been co-operative countries for a long time. Both countries share technology, buy things from each other, and train together.
