They did not achieve one thing with their war on Gaza. They have actually regressed from their earlier ultimatums they had before the war even started, and Hamas is still standing, politically strengthened and popular than ever.

Israel did not want to achieve anything beside calm.

Hamas on the other hand rejected the Egyptian cease fire from first days of war, but after 1.5 moths of fighting they accepted the very same cease fire.

This was the Egyptian proposition from 15 jul 2014 ago:

1) unlimited time cease fire.
2) opening of Gaza's border crossings.
3) talks in Cairo between the sides within two days.

Israel accepted it, Hamas rejected:

Now they accept it and claim super duper victory.

the main problem of israel is that it's too human in treatment of it's enemies. would israel treat the hamas like arabs did with the PLO in the 70's then there would be zero hamas and jihad activity in gaza in 3-4 days. jordan and syria killed thens of thousends of palestinians in a short time and there was no PLO problem in their countries anymore. or take the arabs inside israel. they enjoy rights which other muslim arabs can only dream about in any arab state. would israel act like muslim countries or arabs, then there would be zero arab in israel in a week. arabs made their countries "jew free" via discrimination and killings while israel allowed the number of muslims inside israel to grow from 130.000 in 1948 to 1.400.000 now.

you are right. the ugly antisemitic nazi like postings here are the reason why there will never be peace there. even when israel is reduced into the beach of tel aviv. antisemitism is deeply rooted in the muslim and arab world and they need jews to blame them for the backwardness of the ummah which is still in the stone age while the rest of the world (india for example!!) advanced forward.

A tiny resistance organisation managed to keep a regional power backed by the united states at bay for 50 days and never gave up and kept fighting.

A war is won by achieving your objective, israels objectives went no where,
-They didnt disarm Hamas
-They hurt their own economy
-They revitalised the BDS movement,
-They lost the media war internationally and dragged both israel and its reputation through the mud
-The wasted billions for no reason
-Strained their relationship with the USA, regional states and world states


Before the War hamas was stuck and isolated, after the war their demans are being considered, they are no longer isolated and rceiving money and support to rebuild Gaza

At the same time Hamas is seen as a legitmate resistance organisation across the world for defending Gaza against israel...
If hamas were hindu's they would have surrendered right away as per the wishes of most indians here but thank fully they are not so gutless

Local Facts:
Demonstrations much smaller than in previous conflicts.
After Hamas rejected the ceasefire, demonstrations more or less died out.
Even in cities with large muslim populations, number of demonstrators are counted in hundreds,
and are mostly Palestinian refugees.
Political parties have not made any noticable change in their official position on the conflict.
No debates on the issue on public television.
Little/No debate on BDS in newspapers or TV.
I do not know anyone which has even brought up the conflict for discussion...
Have to come to the conclusion that noone really gives a damn.
