There are several factors
Some may be driven by young age high on harmones a warrior hiding inside searching for a stage to showcase their courage
A dull life seemingly no respite in future no aim in life rejected social charecter
Combination of extreme teachings and ambitious charecter
Death seems to be attractive than life when real life sucks
Entertaining some mental feeling that i am with god and i will die for him
All these kind of situations can be a breeding ground for religious extremist ...all this are product of situation and careless parenting

Lot would have. Take a poor Indian Muslim. The guy has overly strict parents who are part isolationists, He has not had the equal wisdom granted to him to take advantages of opportunities in life. Daily he sees the majority of his more affluent Muslim and non-Muslim countrymen living the good life. eating out, making out .. and so on. His parents teach him to pray, that somehow all ills will be cured JUST by it..and if it isnt, its because the world is a torrid place with evil. Its frustration, anger .. and hatred at being left out. Stuck between a rock and hard place.. this video is going to be a picture of him being able to do some heaven qualifying work(That sounds rather gung ho and manly); a place where he is free of all his frustrations and gets all he desires.

We fear that sunni-shia will start fight amongst themselves in India only, that's the worst thing to happen. We are making cautious steps though.

ISIS propaganda needs to be curtailed, but then how does one go about it? they are everywhere - facebook, twitter, social media, youtube, they are publishing sleek magazines now.

The second part - I believe they are getting recruits from all backgrounds from developed countries too, they are calling for doctors, engineers, consultants, tech guys etc now. Plus the affluent Muslim is more in a position to make that hijrath to the caliphate, while the poor one's become potential trouble makers at home.
