Holding pamphlet that says 'Wilaya Turkey'. So what's the deal now? How has the US not found him? He made a short appearance in a new video although he sounds and looks slightly different than the previous video of him in Mosul. I have a hard time believing he is successfully hiding. Chiefs of non-state actors in war zones don't survive. In Syria Tahrir Al Sham chief Al-Golani is likely alive to not mess up ceasefire efforts and because their role is confined within Idlib, and they are cooperating with world powers.

Al Bagdadi shouldn't be alive, even if he has an replacement, it would be a major symbolic strike. So he is intentionally being kept alive. As he brings much benefit when it comes to harming Sunni Islam and Sunni Muslims. As well as allows the Kurdish long term project in Syria to continue.

PS, he mentions various nations in MENA and Asia but made no mention of Israel or the Palestinians.

At this moment he can just target his wife if she doesn't target him before:rofl:

He mentioned Saudi Arabia too, not sure why he is still trying to remain relevant. People are over his organization. So it is a relief for the people of the region that their influence has largely died down. However, the region remains ripe for revolution and the ruling parties/camps are not doing enough to give people there hope.

Same was said for al-qaeeda but they evolved and are now more powerful as they have ever been
Isis is more brutal and inhumane what is to come will be extreme violence unless states around the globe fight Isis with the intention of wiping them out

These types of people attack fellow Muslims far more than they do to non-Muslim states. There's a reason why Assad sometimes transport ISIS fighters and their families to rebel held areas because ISIS always aim for fellow muslims before they go after non-Muslim enemies. They view the other muslim groups as apostates and prioritise fighting an apostate over kuffar.

They're useful alive to certain sides in this conflict.

AQ isn't really relevant anymore except some minor presence in North Africa. They can continue having some sort of presence but the are largely non-influential at this point. And you can kill these ideas if you confronted poverty in region as well as provide proper alternative Islamic leadership.
