ISI had nothing to do with 26/11: Gen Athar Abbas

.
By the way PA has already denied any of it's serving officers to be involved in Mumbai attacks. The fact is ISI or PA no serving officer of both was involved in the attacks. And from the investigation done by PA nothing was found against the accused too.

ISLAMABAD: Military authorities have said India have got issued red notices from Interpol against five Pakistanis on their alleged involvement in Mumbai blasts by showing two among them as serving majors in Pakistan army while both of these majors including Maj Samir Ali and Major Iqbal have been retired from army since long and are now living as civilians.

Military authorities told Online Friday intelligence agencies had taken into custody both these retired majors and interrogated them following the statement by David Headlay. Nothing special had come to open during the investigation. One Samir Ali Maj (Retd) was reported to be class fellow of David Headlay and later both of these military officers were retired. They have no connection whatsoever with ISI or Pakistan army and they are leading civilians life.

Indian lie about showing 2 retired Pak Army officers as serving majors to Interpol

So it might be for the consumption for the fans here, but what I gather from the history of Indo-Pak nothing substantial is going to happen. Sorry kids. :)

.
It took them three years to acknowledge this fact.
Started with complete and utter denial on Pakistan's behalf hinting at false flag attack by RAW.
As the noose tightened, they accepted that attack was carried out by Pakistani citizens and was planned and carried out from Pakistan.
Now they are also accepting retired army officers were involved in planning out the attack.
whats next? accepting the fact that serving but supposedly 'rogue' official were also involved?

sure it is a diplomatic victory for india but i wouldnt read too much into it.

pakistan has been playing non state actors card for a while now. untill and unless we can establish a credible link between ISI and non state actors (be it LET or EX ISI personnel) we would be fooling ourselves.

i wonder, given the professionals that thay are, if the link between ISI and non state actors can really be established.

.
Severe revelation.. now its denial times from the accused ones.

.
Der aaye drust aaye....Now while you are at it, could you also be kind enough to name them..That Major saab was very popular, going around giving instructions and all.

.
A major diplomatic victory for India. After years of persuasion, finally Pakistan admitted the same. Earlier they denied everything and now after the revelations in US court by the culprits, they are ready to accept.

State terrorism, nothing else.

Noe let them have the guts to prosecute them..

I don't think it was state sponsored. I think Pak army was taken by surprise. But once it happened they covered it up by hiding Kasab's family etc.

Ex-ISI men likely behind 26/11 attacks, says Athar

ISLAMABAD: Military spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas has hinted at involvement of retired ISI officials in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but categorically denied any role of serving spies.

The ISPR chief, in his interaction with the visiting delegation of Indian journalists and in an interview with CNN-IBN, indicated the possibility of some retired officials collaborating with Mumbai perpetrators.

This is probably the first time that Pakistan military has suggested possible links between retired ISI men and Lashkar-e-Taiba, though India had in the past accused serving officials of being involved.

Maj-Gen Abbas described the group responsible for the attacks as a splinter group of LeT headed by Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who is being tried by an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi.

He denied ISI had any links with the Haqqani Network – an accusation made by Chairman US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen during his visit to Islamabad last week.

The military spokesman reiterated the demand for an end to US drone strikes in tribal areas.

Strange, this is what called Rehman Malik style of addressing, i don't know what forced ISPR axed own foot by these irresponsible statements. Why they want to please India by these words. Diplomatically they surrender over this 26/11 issue, if they are so clear that no active serviceman didn't involve then what the need of these hints? Indirectly they put question over PA & ISI repute. Once they denying and on other side they are giving hints? They have to unfold CIA-RAW & Hindu extremist organizations participation in 26/11.

After official statement you still do not bother about those planned the terrorist attack and punishing them instead going for conspiracy!

They have to unfold CIA-RAW & Hindu extremist organizations participation in 26/11.
  You missed Mossad! This is called the sun always rises in the east, no matter what happens!

Ex-ISI officials may be behind 2008 Mumbai attacks: Pak Army

the DG ISPR cant utter a word without COAS approval.... :) must be part of a bigger strategy, or like above mentioned , some kind of smart "damage control"
should had tought about doing damage at the first place that this can turn against them

.
Maybe now the Indian will press to have this possibility investigated, the individuals who may be involved, named, charged and tried --- Better relations must be reflected by institutional efforts to demonstrate that not only have things changed but have changed by voluntary decisions based on ideals such as doing what is right and not on "practical" considerations.
