ISI had nothing to do with 26/11: Gen Athar Abbas

Every agency has links to proxy groups, and CIA and RAW are no different. But is there any specific evidence that implicates that ISI was behind the Mumbai attacks? How come every time we raise the question of providing evidence, you Indians have nothing to say back and side track the question by engaging in straw man fallacy.

Obviously somebody trained them and equipped them to come to Mumbai. Kasab himself mentioned a general was present giving instructions during their training. Don't act like you are holier than thou.
For the sake of the innocent people who died, let justice prevail. Have guts to introspect and let voice of reason prevail.

So than again, there's no absolute proof and just horse sh** that ISI MIGHT be behind these attacks. Unless India gives overwhelming that ISI was indeed behind these attacks, than you people dont have the right to blame ISI. We live in a civilized world where the accused is 'not guilty' unless proven other wise, coming from the world' largest democracy you should be aware of these norms. I agree with you, let justice prevail but it appears that the Indians want to give their form of justice without any evidence.

Let's see if there are any Pakistanis here willing to contest notorious' and mafiya's charges.

Mr.Solomon, I dare you to show One "WMD" you ever find in IRAQ, like wise I DARE you to provide Substantial prove to which shows ISI officer explicitly helping taliban. The confessions extracted from so called captured terrorists hold no water, As The terrorists we have captured, also Point Finger towards Afghani and Indian Involvement

. But as the "today" wise man said. Confessions from the terrorists in Pakistan, are mostly engineered. But the confessions of terrorist captured in Afghanistan are mostly true and based on fact. on the basis of which Every one of you Accuses Us.

Ex-ISI men likely behind 26/11 attacks, says Athar

ISLAMABAD: Military spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas has hinted at involvement of retired ISI officials in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, but categorically denied any role of serving spies.

The ISPR chief, in his interaction with the visiting delegation of Indian journalists and in an interview with CNN-IBN, indicated the possibility of some retired officials collaborating with Mumbai perpetrators.

This is probably the first time that Pakistan military has suggested possible links between retired ISI men and Lashkar-e-Taiba, though India had in the past accused serving officials of being involved.

Maj-Gen Abbas described the group responsible for the attacks as a splinter group of LeT headed by Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who is being tried by an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi.

He denied ISI had any links with the Haqqani Network – an accusation made by Chairman US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen during his visit to Islamabad last week.

The military spokesman reiterated the demand for an end to US drone strikes in tribal areas.

This news is a guud development. It not only shows that the Pakistani establishment is ready and willing to hold the culprits behind Mumbai attack thus assisting india in punishing those who master-minded the attack, but this also affirms the Pakistani stance of fighting and countering terrorism in any of its forms or manifestations.

Let's see if india can respond equally.

A major diplomatic victory for India. After years of persuasion, finally Pakistan admitted the same. Earlier they denied everything and now after the revelations in US court by the culprits, they are ready to accept.

State terrorism, nothing else.

Noe let them have the guts to prosecute them..

Looks like Pakistani military is on a Damage control mode, now that the ISI-Terrorist linkages getting proven seems inevitable

Exact words of Mr Athar Abbas would be better. This hinting thing seems a bit vague. Especially when he was talking to Indian journalists.

So it was not Amar Singh after all ;)

Looks like the Guantanamo files and the confession of Rana/Headley are having their effect. And with US being pushed further thanks to our dear Imran Khan things could only get better for India.

Go Imran !!

And here comes the expert from Tamil Nadu.

indians please there's no need to purr like a tomcat having his bollocks scratched, this doesnt exactly bar any of those who were either involved, nominated, suspected (to include local support) from their involvement in the affair.

Had this been done without US pressure, we can say so that Pakistan is willing to punish and really against terror.

But this is after so much denials, pressure and the revelation in the US courts by Rana & Headly, it does not look so.

As Pakistan must have known from the day one that who were behind the attacks.

errrr..........he sold his soul to devil.

poor guy will be made to suffer for making this statement

the DG ISPR cant utter a word without COAS approval.... :) must be part of a bigger strategy, or like above mentioned , some kind of smart "damage control"
