PM, interior ministry take note of reports on foreigners visiting prohibited areas.

LAHORE: Following reports of an unauthorised trip by US embassy officials to Gilgit-Baltistan, an intelligence agency’s report has expressed serious concern regarding the “secret movement” of foreign missions/diplomats in the country, including covert meetings with officials and private persons – without informing either the foreign office or the interior ministry.

The report, cited in an interior ministry circular has advised foreign missions to avoid this practice to prevent any “untoward incident.”

The report states that a number of foreigners have been found visiting prohibited areas without obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC). It also directs law enforcement agencies to not provide direct security to any foreign missions/diplomats until the foreign office formally gives them details of their presence and programme schedule.

The American officials had directly written to the Gilgit-Baltistan police chief, asking him for security, and arranging for meetings with various lawmakers and professionals.

Following these reports, the interior ministry, other intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the prime minister have taken strict notice, sources said. In this regard, the interior ministry’s National Crisis Management Cell has issues guidelines to all provincial home departments, police chiefs, and heads of law enforcement agencies.

Fake number plates

Intelligence reports also said that a number of bulletproof diplomatic vehicles, equipped with weapons, are being used around the country with fake number plates.

The circular states that diplomatic vehicles were temporarily allowed to use alternative number plates after the 2008 Marriot hotel bombing in Islamabad. This practice has continued in Islamabad as well as different parts of the country, the report adds. The prime minister, according to the reports, has directed law enforcement agencies to immediately take into possession all such vehicles and return them to their countries of origin.

but can a puppet govt can do when its mission is only looting.

We ourselves are to blame for this. We have given foreign nationals too much priority and provided their diplomats with excessive and undue protocol.

Be is Generals or politicians or bureaucrats;

As long as aim is to obtain US or European nationality, This will keep on happening.

About Time Pakistan is left to the Pakistanis, and not those who only pretend to be so.

Are the apes running ISI!?

As long as China is Pakistan's ally and G-B borders with it, i doubt U.S can actually send agents there....
The only way U.S diplomats can try doing is bribing local ministers, but we'll have to reaction of local citizens....

If Pakistan can get out of Afghan border quick and ditch U.S soldiers, with a new government, then i think that will be the day we will have our luck saving other regions....

Isn't the police chief part of interior ministry? I also thought diplomats using fake number plates is acceptable in most countries.

They are up to something; that's for sure...maybe trying to create anti-Pakistan sentiments among the people?
God knows, but whatever it is, it isn't good for Pakistan.

Every Nation on this planet earth has a right to kick out diplomats out of the country that are involved in illegal activities. The reason given for the ouster is simply " Involved in activities incompatible with the diplomatic status ".

It is this shameless Government who had approved the Visa of thousands of US diplomats, most of whom are not Diplomats but CIA operatives. There is no reeason for US Embassy and consulates to have thousands of Diplomats.

ohhhhhhhh god when we will close us embassy and consulates like iran and throw them out? its only way left now
