Army chief reaches London on official visit: ISPR

General Qamar Bajwa to hold talks with civil, military leadership during the visit

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached London on Thursday for an official visit to the United Kingdom, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, the army chief will hold talks with senior civil and military leadership in the country.

“Gen Qamar will discuss matters of mutual interest including evolving geo-strategic environment, defence and security,” the ISPR statement read.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is already in the UK. On Wednesday he met British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt as part of the 4th review of Pakistan-UK Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.


“The two leaders reaffirmed their respective country’s commitment to take this relationship forward and work for shared prosperity reinforced by the strong Pakistani Diaspora and friendship between the two nations,” according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

In political terms, yes, PTI is in power. In essence, IK is leading an establishment controlled government.

IK was never completely reliable for establishment to date or else 2013 elections was the appropriate time to let PTI win second most seats that it looked set to secure instead of the third place it was reduced to by a weary - PMLN supportive and used to wheeling dealing with PPP - Kiani.

If IK proves himself trustworthy enough then the next elections may see PTI actually come into power and without the fail safe handycap of the current political alliance put in place to control it.

So your "Hanooz Dilli Door Ast" is a bulls eye yet to be scored indeed.

The corrupt in every party are being lined up for a roasting. No one anywhere but the absolutely critical blue eyed may be spared.

If this happens we need to seriously look into our relations with UK but than again who is going to do that when all politicians including PM has stakes in UK either in the form of property or children etc. This is such a shame that UK hosts every anti Pakistani element yet we are doing business as usual with them whereas it should be the opposite.

I am not asking to break it, I am saying to look at it, a simple way is to degrade it. Let them know how annoyed we are. There are always ways but only if one has the will to do so which lacks in our politicians due to the reasons i mentioned above.
