Is the term Zionist derogatory?

I came across another use of the term Zionist in a mainstream newspaper Pakistani paper today. The battle against militancy: some solutions .

My understanding was that the term originated from a fabricated story about a book called "Protocols of the elders of Zion" (The Protocols of the Elders of Zion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and that the term itself is derogatory like using the Pak* word or the N word.

But it seems like it is commonly used on the forum. Is that an acceptable word in Pakistan ? It certainly is unheard of in Indian/America media that I have read.

Would love some comments.

The term Zionist is not derogatory in nature, and many Jews accept that they are Zionists. Zionism is basically the movement in the late 19th and early 20th century that sought to establish a homeland for the oppressed Jews of Europe, Theodor Hetzl being a prominent person among the early leaders who pushed this agenda.

To opponents of the zionists among communists, socialists, muslims, etc. the word is used as a substitute for racist, and sometimes intended to be an insult.

However, the word still has current acceptance within Jewish circles.

Yes racist people always consider the term 'racist' derogatory. Since Hindus are Zionists, they obviously find the term 'Zionist' as derogatory.

Are you using the term as an exact substitute for the term racist ? Can each religion have Zionists ? Like Hindu Zionist, Muslim Zionists , Shia Zionist etc ?

Muslims cannot be Zionists, if any Muslim claims to be a Zionist, it must be then understood that the person is a Kafir.

It is only Hinduism and Israeli Judaism that preach Zionism. Please do not support racism, because it is counter productive. Hope you are intelligent.

Can you expand on what you mean exactly by the term?
I am confused because Hindus have nothing to do with Israeli homeland or a global conspiracy to create one. Israel has never had a problem with races (Jews were often the ones discriminated against - like by Hitler). So what definition are you using for the term ? And my understanding was that Quran had no problem with slaves ?

Hindus by using their religious propaganda in fact tries to expand the number of Hindus by killing non-Hindus and capturing their lands and the Israeli Jews also try to do the same. Thus Hindus find the Israeli Jews as natural brothers since their aims and objectives are all the same. For example, you are trying to defend the Israeli invasion by exploiting Hitler's acts. Because, genetically somehow Israelis and Hindus match each other, there might have been some Gora-Kala differences in terms of appearance.

No slavery is allowed in Islam. Slavery is mandatory is Hinduism.
