An American guy speaking Chinese shot a around New York Time Square after midnight, homeless people everywhere, some sleep in Mcdonalds, some in the subway and some on the street, people go through the garbage and they made 24/7 Mcdonalds very dirty with litters everywhere. thieves and addicts lurk around around every corner, Police arresting is a common sight and people don't pay attention , they are so used to that.

Check the video again, VPN is not banned, the government may not like you to go to some sites, (99.99% international sites are not banned, only those China thinks are **** or anti China sites or platform may spread rumors and cause social disturbance are banned), they only make you a little bit inconvenient to access them. but most Chinese don't care cause very few Chinese visit English language websites anyway.

can't say about the content of the video, never been to NY but heard so many good and bad things about NY .. Can't say about crimes but lots of people complain about cat size RATS in NY , bad traffic , expensive life style etc as for crimes after midnight its quite common in any major city .

I live in NYC the bad days are all gone if he really wanted to see the bad days he is 30 years late that was in the 1980s and 1990s before Giulliani came into the Mayors office and cleaned the city up from mafioso types pimps etc graffitied trains dont exist no more as the MTA put up harsh enforcements and clean trains regularly NYC may be old dingy overpriced s..thole with idiotic materialistic population but it's not as dangerous as before the danger areas are like Brownsville,Brooklyn and the South Bronx very few areas on Southern Queens as well but another factor is the population of lower middle class is shrinking as rent has been shooting up gentrification of areas that use to be s .those like Harlem in Manhattan,Clinton Hill in Brooklyn and former industrial areas in Queens like Long Island City are now in the millions of dollars and rent is out of reach it's no wonder long time folks like myself cant afford to live here and a forced to stay with family more people are moving out of state as well

NYC is safe after midnight what you are talking about it's big city covering 5 bourughs the areas to avoid are no way near tourists spots anyways

Search youtube for foreign expats experience in China, so many of them, all of them say China is incredibly safe.
