In this week’s UpFront, we ask award-winning author and activist Arundhati Roy about the disputed region of Kashmir and her criticisms of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A part from few anti-Pakistan questions from the host, Arundhati Roy clearly highlights the war-mongering mindset of Indian media how much of them all are owned by weapon manufacturers and want to incite violence with Pakistan even call for a limited Nuclear war.
She also reminded how India backed rebels in East Pakistan to stop so-called genocide of populace but when it comes to Kashmir they just completely deny Kashmiris of their freedom and try to suppress them by all means which is clearly a "genocide" from past two decades but when Pakistan raises this issue it becomes India's internal problem. Hypocrisy at its best.
Why a young man gave his life killing 40+ soldiers? why people throw themselves in front of captured "terrorists" aka Mujahideen or Freedom fighters? why so many young boys want to face bullets even on curfew? or viceversa. This questions need to be answered and can only done by asking Kashmiris what they want or why they are doing this.
These kind of people are eye-opener for indian people and needs better platform to express their views among indians as well as show them the terrorism continued persistently by Indian governments in Kashmir.
