Is it time to implement Mujib’s plan to bring Bangladesh and Pakistan closer?

.
Sheikh Mujib never wanted to break up his beloved Pakistan for which he was a foot soldier in his youth.

However, operation searchlight made division inevitable.

But that is history and we should move on - because Bangladeshi Muslims don’t have any hard feelings - given out of a 250 thousand deaths only 25 thousand were Bangladeshi Muslims.

The resentment is largely concentrated in the Hindu and Bihari communities because they suffered most deaths and violence. Pakistan and India were responsible for the deaths in those respective communities and only they can heal those wounds.

Anyway, here is what Mujib really wanted:

1. Effective joint military through a military alliance.

2. Most of our embassies housed in same buildings.

3. Free movement of people, goods and capital.

4. A central tax of 2.5% - to be used to fund relief efforts and mitigate natural disasters.

5. Extensive collaboration between universities.
Bangladesh should keep away from Pakistan. We are suffering with a mentality now, and we dont want to transfer that to Bangladesh.
Stay away, stay safe.

.
lol - what the "people" of Pakistan need to do is learn from Bangladesh and get the Army firmly under political control and "put in their place" ... that worked for Bangladesh, that works for India - that "too" can work for Pakistan ...

.
Cleansing process is a continuous never ending process because when you stop one menace another rises.

If you wait, you will wait forever.

Bangladesh and Pakistan have already wasted decades.

Allah has chosen us (east and west Pakistan) to fight the Hinduvta menace.

If we fail, surely we will go to hell. And deserve it.
Bangladesh won't fight anything 💀

What have you been smoking and sniffing, with todays current situation the pak elite couldn't give 2 sh*ts about what it's people wanted and got of imran khan for a couple of Nickles.

These elite paks extremely look down and have conflicting feeling about bdesh.

Pak elite will only look to subdue bdesh as quite a few to this day go into denial about the greater wider history of Bangladesh. I.e for example the very first inception of Pakistan was in Bangladesh with the partition and the nawab.

Or they go into denial that half of the wealth stolen for South Asia came from Bangladesh.

With some paks as far they are concerned they genetically better.

Pak elite will only look at bdesh as f-ing cash cow.

People with these sentiments with acknowledging the reality need to brought back down to earth.

Bangladesh had a unique character that has reaped dividends, they had no feudal system nor allowed it to develop.
Now look at the state of Sind, Baluchistan and parts of Punjab.

Correction brother waz.

We acquired a feudal system under the British who made the Brahmins our overlords.

However, we evicted most of them during partition. And Biharis dealt with the few left in 1971.

Feudal system was completely wiped off in 1972 under Mujib.

Apart from a few fringe nut jobs - no parliamentary party practices class/caste politics in BD.

Which is quite incredible given class politics is rife in most of the world e.g. U.K. USA and of course India.

We, Bengali Muslims, have always shunned class/caste politics. Except the colonial period when British made the filthy Brahmins our overlords!!

I agree!

They need to deal with their military like Hasina dealt with BD military.

They need to lose their “marshal race” attitude.

I repeat, Bangladesh won't fight anything. There's no real threat to Bangladesh by India. It has no ambitions against any "hindutva" or anything.
Well, I usually don't advocate Pak-Bangladesh friendship, because I know what Bangladeshis are and what Pakistanis are.
But my friend, Bangladesh should anyway prepare for a war that you guys have to face eventually. The dream of Akhand Bharat is a big problem, and I don't think Bangladesh has any solution for that other than preparing for the ultimate showdown.

It had less to do with mujib or operation searchlite. And more to do with Bengals demand to have Bangla as state language and not agreeing upon a constitution..
There were language riots starting early 50s soon after independence. This movement became bigger by 60s... All this is not taught to an average Joe in Pakistan or Bangladesh.
In 62 bengalis were given an option to build a confederation but it was refused by them.

What Bangladeshis are and what Pakistanis are? Genuine question.
