My Experience :
1. 8th Nov : reached home at 9 PM. On the way heard news about invalidity of 500/1000 rs Notes. bought vegetable etc worth 250 .. gave vendor 500 Rs note no question asked.
2. By 10 :30 PM start getting calls from friends/ family .. got news about huge lines outside shops and petrol bunks. Total money ( in 100 and lower value notes ) : 650.
3. 9th and 10th Nov. All banks /ATM closed . managed to get 500 Rs change from eatery near my office and that’s it.
4. 11th Nov. Went office with hardly 200 rs usable money in packet. Cab paid by OLA money. In afternoon managed to withdraw 4000 RS from nearby ATM situated in a by lane. No hassle hardly 5 minutes. News spread like wild fire resulting in half of my section standing inline outside that ATM. Money over in next 2-3 hours.
5. 12th Nov ( week end !!) with enough money in pocket spent the day trolling people online and offline. Three of my friends are getting married in next month .. they became butt of all jokes.
Evening spent in social service. Made local shopkeepers / small eateries aware of Paytm and helped them to install and use it. The nearest chai shop now use paytm ( chai cost 10 rs per cup !)
6. 13th Nov : withdraw 2000 and deposited 10,000 in account. Total time spent 45 minutes.
7. Final status : not faced much hassle so far. However lines outside ATM and Bank are still pretty long. People and angry but supporting the idea. I am conserving the loose money as much as possible. Paying by card swap or online payment as much as I can.
Thankfully my meat supplier Rizwan Bhai is accepting Card Swap and PAytm both.
may be majority do not have such a bigger denomination in large numbers??
