You're misrepresenting things here, it is unknown who the person Israel is holding is, whether he's a member of Hamas's armed wing or not. Israel can't go into Gaza and kidnap anybody. The tunnel Israel claimed to 'find' today was an old tunnel from 2014 which was short in length, intended to booby trap IDF soldiers, it was instead used as explosive charge during the war, and there is video of this. The materials seen in the tunnel are the same exact ones used from the past, there was no 'discovery'.

The reason Palestinian armed groups are firing, is due to 200-300m incursions into Palestinian territory, gun fire on farmers in the area, and attempt to reestablish buffer zones which were annulled in the 2014 truce. And nobody fired any 'rockets' as you falsely claim. They fired warning mortars at the Israeli army operating inside the Gaza Strip. You blatantly made up anything regarding 'rocket fire', there was none. Egypt was consulted, and an understanding was reached. That Israel would withdraw from the areas it attempted instilling buffer zones in, it didn't, and hence the warning fire has continued on today.

Israel can't have the best of both worlds, by committing aggression and risking breakdown of truce in the process. Palestinians have every right to build strategic deterrence tunnels into the immediate vicinity of the border where Israeli military is amassing, as these tunnels provide flanking opportunity, and you can't find one example of these tunnels being used to target civilians, they were all directed at flanking the Israeli army. On top of that, Israel does not formally declare any borders, because it wants to annex the West Bank. And is actively exercising settlement expansion, and illegal population transfer of Jewish people of all backgrounds into the occupied territories. Hence there is no violation of sovereignty here until Israel recognizes the sovereignty of Palestinian territories.

....
....

The warning fire will continue if Israel attempts to establish more buffer zones. Israel made the decision to target civilians in the process, as it knows it can't afford to target Palestinian armed groups at this moment. Otherwise Israeli's will spend a summer in bunkers and the communities around Gaza would have to evacuated. And Israel is not ready to pay that price, unless it secures another 2 billion in missile battery aid.

Israel still persisting with incursions, and hence Hamas will continue warning fire at their troops:

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired mortars at Israeli soldiers on Friday morning, causing no injuries, as the frequent exchanges of cross-border fire entered its fourth day.

Go pick a fight with someone who's afraid of you, like Egypt or Hezbollah. No Palestinian armed groups fear Israel. Israel can only target civilians, one family at a time, it can't confront Palestinians militarily.

Update:

-Israeli air strike in Khan Yunis at open area, no injuries

tank shell kills woman

Israeli tank fire has killed a Palestinian woman in the Gaza Strip, Palestinians say, in some of the worst clashes between Israeli forces and Hamas militants since 2014.

The woman was killed and another person was injured in the Khan Yunis area, southern Gaza, local medics said.

Israel said it was responding to mortar rounds fired by Hamas fighters.

The clashes came after Israel said it had discovered a new tunnel reaching into Israel from Gaza.

Israeli army spokesman Lt Col Peter Lerner said the tunnel was about 30 metres (100ft) below the surface.

Tunnelling for Gaza's next war

In a statement, Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon said: "We will not be deterred by the Hamas threats, and continue our actions in the wake of the violation of our sovereignty, until the last of the tunnels is found and exposed."

The army said attacks by the militants were targeting Israeli forces searching for tunnels in the border area.

Meanwhile, Hamas militants warned that they "will not allow the continuation of Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip".

Last month, the Israeli military said it had uncovered and "neutralised" a tunnel extending from Gaza several hundred metres into Israeli territory

Since Wednesday, Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups have fired guns and mortar rounds across the border, and the Israeli air force has carried out bombing raids.

The exchange of attacks continued on Friday.

In 2014, Israel and militants in the Hamas-controlled Gaza fought a devastating war that lasted 50 days.

Hamas fighters used tunnels to infiltrate Israeli territory on four occasions, killing 12 soldiers, while Israeli troops destroyed more than 30 tunnels.

The conflict left at least 2,251 Palestinians dead - including more than 1,462 civilians, according to the UN - and 11,231 injured. Some 18,000 homes in Gaza were also destroyed or badly damaged.

On the Israeli side, 67 soldiers and six civilians were killed, and up to 1,600 injured. Rockets and mortars launched from Gaza caused damage to homes and other buildings inside Israel.

Israel pounds Gaza with fresh air strikes

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/05/israel-pounds-gaza-fresh-air-strikes-160506090541800.html

Israel's military says its aircraft struck infrastructure in Gaza used by Hamas, which governs the Palestinian enclave, in response to what it said were mortar fires at its forces along the border.

Palestinian witnesses said there were two sets of air raids, one targeting Beit Lahia in northern Gaza and the second in Khuzaa, southeast of Khan Yunis, in the south of the territory, AFP news agency reported.

In a statement, the Israeli army said "Israel Air Force aircraft targeted a Hamas terror infrastructure."

There were no reports of any casualties.

It was the fourth air raid on Gaza since Wednesday, when direct clashes between Hamas and Israeli forces broke out for the first time since a devastating 2014 war that killed at least 2,200, mostly Palestinians.

On Thursday, a 53-year-old Palestinian woman was killed and several others wounded in earlier air strikes on the besieged territory.

Gaza blockade: contravening international law?
Earlier strikes

Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qedra said that the woman, identified as Zeina Al Omor, had been killed and several others injured by shrapnel in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis.

Israel launched the first strikes in southern Gaza late on Wednesday in response to what it called mortar attacks on Israeli troops along the border.

Early on Thursday, it launched strikes on four targets in northern Gaza and another four in the south later in the day.

On Thursday, the Islamic Jihad group claimed responsibility for firing five mortar shells at the Israeli ground troops operating near the Gaza-Israel border fence.

It said it was the first time since the 2014 Gaza war that it had done so.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his security cabinet for Friday morning to discuss the latest flare-up.

Israel ended its permanent military presence in the Gaza Strip in 2005 in what it called the "Gaza disengagement".

However, the area remains effectively occupied as Israel retains control of its air space, seafront and all vehicle access, blocking trade and free movement for the territory's nearly two million residents.

Hamas does not call for war, but won't tolerate Israeli incursions into Gaza

GAZA (Ma'an) -- Deputy head of Hamas’ politburo Ismail Haniyeh said on Friday that while the movement is not calling for a new war in the Gaza Strip, it will not tolerate incursions by Israel or accept a buffer zone.

Haniyeh said during Friday prayers at the Abu Salim mosque in the central Gaza Strip district of Deir al-Balah that Israel’s recent incursions into the border areas in search of tunnels are responsible for the latest escalation of violence in the besieged coastal enclave.

“We do not call for a new war, but we will not allow these incursions or for new realities to be imposed on our people in Gaza. We call for lifting the siege. Enough of this historical injustice suffered by 2 million of our people."

Israeli military incursions inside the besieged Gaza Strip and near the “buffer zone” have long been a near-daily occurrence, marked by Israeli bulldozers leveling lands inside Gaza territory while accompanied by Israeli military vehicles.

Haniyeh said incursions inside Gaza territory are a grave violation of the Egypt-sponsored ceasefire reached in the summer of 2014.
