I can understand the third world tag to China can hurt a hyper Patriotic Chinese
A cheerleader claiming some third world country as a superpower doesn't make it one

What is really a third world country? How to define the first , second and third world countries? Indians always call us a third world country, but we wonder what this tag really means?

As far as I understand, the third world is a political term that was previously used to describe countries that were not directly involved in the post-WWII order. Countries that were directly engaged in the WWII and its aftermath, which were broadly categorized into the Eastern bloc and the Western bloc, competed with each other and made all the decisions for the world together while countries outside of those circles had no power and were subjects to the decisions made by them.

A simple analogy is when two entities are making a deal together. Any entity that is not involved in it is called a third party/entity. Hence, the third world was those countries in the world that were not part of the deals made by world powers for the world order. And all of those countries were powerless. Hence, the negative connotation of the term.

Today's China is indeed one of the world's most influential countries in the world. Definitely in Top 5, if not Top 3. India on the other hand is not considered even an influential player in her own region.

I dont think China is a third world country.
But Chinese do think that they are the next superpower. Or may be already one.
Both are false.
China has made significant progress in many many ways. But it is trying to bite too much too soon which has already resulted in some broken teeth. And more will break if it does not mend its ways.

How does it matter what an Indian PDF user thinks. Do you really need affirmation to your status? That is pretty pathetic from your end.
Completely agree ... people should not need affirmation from other people, especially Indians. On the contrary, if the Indians spew out crap, then you know you are doing well :enjoy: :enjoy: :enjoy: .

Capturing and occupying 1000 square kilometers of territory sounds like getting stronger teeth than broken teeth to me lol.

I just don't know what a third world country is, we don't use that word very often so it seems to be a popular word in India so Indians may know the definition of the world better.

. . . .
But we don't know what it means in India, cause Indians keep calling China a third world shthole, as if the word " third world" tag is tailor made only for China.
Again you want to play to gallery. Go ahead. I just think it is pathetic.

I think China is a developing country. The Third World became obsolete after the Cold War.

Is that in addition to 38000?
Are you another brother sans border?
Stronger teeth are the ones broken by force. Weaker ones fall off by themselves.

Believe me, superpower is a negative word in China, no Chinese claims we are a superpower or to be one.
I dont know what which word means to you as in individual. The actions & desperateness of China is as as visible as sun on a bright sunny day. Someone already asked you not play coy. I second it. And the rest of the world thirds it. I think ur coyness is 2nd only to the numero uno coyish declaration "THNR"
