Is Bangladesh army is planning to acquire LY-60 air defence system?

Well you have some agreeable points.

all research departments are well funded

I believe hacking depts. need to be well funded too. Which PLA does have. This is well documented from very reliable sources. But we need not talk about the naked truth, shall we?

Well documented and reliable source? You mean CNN and Washington Post? Even US defense department is well known to fabricate lies due to their racism nature that western and white are center of Earth. If US Congress can even fabricated Iraq WMD and give them excuse to invade Iraq. I don't think there is much credibility to talk about their so called facts.

Let me ask you where do Chinese copy their DF-17 hyperglide ballistic missile? From Martian, I believe according to you. :enjoy:

One or two exceptions does not make the whole truth or whole lie.

We know that Chinese Govt. (PLA) HAS hacked into US military sources and received classified information that has helped their armament industry - no one can deny this, we have seen this through Wikileaks and other sources (including Mandiant, Cylance cyber research groups), which are the last sources that are friendly or 'in bed with' the US Govt.

Even Russians know. :-)

This has started from making unlicensed copies of T-54A/B tanks back in the fifties until even today (the T-59's we still use). This has even extended to every sphere of industrial activity (including high tech, such as that seen with Huawei, when they used to back-engineer and copy Cisco equipment back in the 90's, which is how they got started).

Third world countries do not complain because we benefit, we get a good item (though maybe a bit less reliable) at a much lower price. Bang for the buck is undeniable. But we all know where the source of China's tech is...and it is not R&D. So trying to hold moral high horse over Turkey or claiming superior tech etc. is, like the CCP says, a 'paper tiger'. :-)

If we decide to support Turkey's arms industry - is that an issue to China's govt.? It shouldn't be.

Bangladesh Army sticky thread says we decided to buy over a hundred VT-5 tanks, as well as LY-60 and LY-80 units. You are not going to sell it to us? Then so be it. We will find other sources. We are not getting these items for free...

Discussion of the scope and breadth of such activity is beyond the scope of our chitchat here. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that...

I just give on example doesn't mean it just one or two. I can give you hundreds or plenty if you want. What is undeniable facts but rather ignorant blunt lies of the US media and defense. While some are selective of undeniable facts of confession of a former CIA contractor (Snowden) who happened to be an white American spill the bean of American dirty hacking...

Go ahead and think China military development is all about hacking and no merit. It will not stop the fact Bangladesh are going for more China military hardware as it proves capabilities. Bangladesh defense ministry definite has the forsee to know what is best in terms of value, prices and capabilities added for their armed forces

The only problem with B-desh procuring Chinese and Turkish defense equipment is, Indian access. More poignantly on the systems Pakistan uses with similar effect through same sources.

I don't follow you exactly.

I believe if you can get ToT and then modifications, you can change some things which prevents divulging critical factors guessed by adversaries.

.
Could any Bangladesh members confirmed that VT5 light tank is aquired by Bangladesh army?

. .
confirmed by bangladesh armed forces division..

Other than Thailand, Bangladesh (if true) is the second inductee of VT-5 then...

I foresee bar armor to be used for close quarter fighting, given the state of ERA placement.

iu

How can this tank have better armor than the Kaplan (like some are saying)?

But at 33 tonnes, it weighs even less than the Durjoy (locally modified Type 59 with new Type 96 turret).

Thailand never induct VT-5. See how misinfo you have. Not to mention talking about Chinese military hardware.

Agreed. They have the VT-4.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

What apology??

What you quote is recent phenomenon and completely unrelated (what is patent for??).

When China was lagging behind the west two decades ago (especially in arms technology)- the only way it could leapfrog the technology gap was by hacking into US defense vendors and get technology by illicit means. Your govt. invested plenty of money setting up a PLA unit to hack into US companies to get this technology. Not talking about morality, this is something countries have to do to get ahead of each other sometimes.

Patents can be for making new kinds of Jello or for skinning cats a different way. Doesn't mean squat.

Can we for a second get rid of the labels 'China' and 'the US'? Think of a large populous country trying to get to first world status over a country that is already first world.

The former will try every trick in the book, they will try to get ahead by hook or crook, and not give two sh*ts about patents, morality or intellectual property principles.

So that is what is natural and that is what is happening. China finds it easier to hack into US unprotected systems to get information to leapfrog US competition and offer the same thing for one-fifth the price (and still make tons of money like Huawei). The fact that Huawei has now started to do its own R&D (and produces patents) is because it is now commercially successful and can afford R&D. But I doubt it will do much business in North America going forward, door has closed. Europe may be still open for now.

In terms of weapons systems (which is what this topic is about), every major Chinese weapon is a bald-faced unlicensed copy of either Western or US weapon. Why? Because China (yet) cannot make the kind of R&D investments needed to develop advanced weapons. Things are getting better of course, but China factories and R&D units cannot compare to the Lockheed Martins and the Boeings of the world. That said, their facilities and standards have come a long way from what they were two decades ago. This is an opinion of yours truly who is an avid watcher of Chinese weapons and civilian aerospace technology.

The LY-60 (which is the subject of this thread) is a copy of the AIM-7 Sparrow which the US introduced in 1959. The missile was tested a decade before on one of the first Navy Jet fighters made in the US - the F3D Skynight. Enough said.

Come back after learning standard written usage of English.

I don't waste time with people posting incoherent thoughts using broken English.
