Irish MP Richard Boyd Barrett calls out the double standards on Ukraine and Palestine​

"It took five days for sanctions against Putin and his thugs but imposing sanctions for 70 years of oppression of the Palestinians would not be ‘helpful’." Irish lawmaker Richard Boyd Barrett on Wednesday called out the Irish government's double standards when dealing with Russia's invasion of Ukraine vs Israel's occupation of Palestine.

He is the man. As you see there are few one to listen him in parliament. This is the level of hypocrisy n duble standers we have here in Europe

I have found the Irish to be exceptionally amazing people. These people, victims of colonialism, are the only western/EU country that actually has an unadulterated opinion on Palestine, Western hypocrisy etc.

I'm in Dublin! I am not much of a tourist sadly, I haven't even seen most of Dublin, lol. But I like it here!

I am not quite sure what India has to do with any of it. I am not following what you're referring to.

Have never been, but would love to visit someday in the not-too-distant future.

Me too, I should have gone long ago..ah the things you miss when you are too busy to stop and smell the roses.

I'd love to drive around and explore the countryside..but unfortunately they use the wrong side of the road..so I may as well be a cripple and be taxied around...unless I want to end up like Matthew Broderick.

Double standards? Is he standing up for Saharawis, Syrian Kurds, non-Muslim Bengalis, Afghan Hazaras, Turkish Alevis, women in general or just for the Palestinians?
Ukrainians are sending their children abroad while they are staying to fight. Palestinians parade with children carrying machine guns. Is that the kind of society he stands for?
Do Palestinians fight for a more equal society or one with fewer rights for women and minorities?
Palestinians in Europe are seldom promoting hate against Jews, women, and the West. Ukrainians are hard workers happy to be in Europe. Sorry, but the attitude changes everything.
Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Jews, Farsis, Christians are not complaining and killing people in their host countries.
Muslims are. Even if a good part of their victims are other Muslims.
MP Barrett should remeber that the IRA also killed Irish people. Being Catholics, they should have learnt something about Satyagraha.
