Good step. Time to crush the wet dreams of that Arab wannabe. First the Nujaifi gang was dealt with and their failed project. Later for Kirkuk to be liberated and several/most of the so-called disputed areas.
Outside meddling/interference, for instance backing up Barzanistan against Baghdad, has only taken place due to a weakened Iraqi state. Under Saddam Hussein, even post 1991 (8 year long Iraq-Iran war, Gulf war, rebellion in the South and North, no-fly zones, crippling sanctions that makes the current iran sanctions a joke in comparison etc.), such meddling was mostly only a pipe dream for the usual suspects in the region. The state later became further weakened post 2003 and post ISIS/Barzanistan.
So-called KRG, 30-40% of the population there are Iraqi Arabs, 5-10% are Assyrians and other non-Kurds. All that overall tiny territory is ancient Semitic (Assyrian, Arab) land. That is why all the original city names, 90% of the current ones have Semitic origins and why all the heritage and every step you take on the ground is littered with that heritage.
Most Arabs and Kurds have cordial relations. Just talking about the bad apples (those in power and their militias/terrorist groups and the defeated land-grabbers).
Given the fact that Iraq's population is growing rapidly (the quickest in the region along with Yemen) and Iraq's population by 2050 is expected to reach 85 million, the 4-5 million Kurds will be flooded which should also take place ideally to strengthen the cohesion of the state. By 2100 Iraq will apparently have a population larger than Iran and Turkey combined.
