This is so stupid. Americans invade a muslim country illegally under the guise of having WMD which didnt exist. They decided US and israel could have nukes but Iraq couldnt. As a result of americans thousands of iraqis are killed, The americans then put a puppet government that represents the iraqi people. The americans then sell them on the whole useless or obsolete weapons that will only be used to further american interests. American companies profit from all this, Americans steal iraqi oil.

?? The AIM-7M and variants is a lethal missile... very effective. And proven in combat. More aircraft were downed by the AIM-7 in Desert Storm than the AIM-9.

I've been trying since I've been here, but the notion of "stealing oil" will not go away. It never will, because it is the foundation of so many arguments vis. the U.S. As if there is a transatlantic pipeline, and every American garage has a few barrels of crude oil "war booty" tucked away.

I've yet to hear of a reasonable response to the following.

Given that the cost of the Iraq war is estimated at well over a trillion dollars, does it make any sense whatsoever to execute this war to 'steal' oil valued at a fraction of that dollar amount?

Barrels of oil imported to the US from Iraq, 2011 estimate: 204,035,000
Free Market cost of that oil @ $110/barrel: $22,443,850,000

1,000 billion $$ spent to obtain 22 billion $$ worth of oil. And here's the kicker... We are paying for the Iraqi oil. We pay normal world spot-market prices for it!
