Very good purchase, congrats to Iraki brothers . Iraq must find it new place on the map of the Middle East, the country must play it full role in the region , out of this war and re build the country, it is a country with a glorious and long history , and the first step is the army .
Initially , he is designed to replace the F-5 when they will be retired .

.
Great step. All the best to Iraqis.

Doritos11 -- What is your view on the relationship between the current Iraqi Government and Iran? I have always known Iraqis to be against Iranian intervention. But what is your personal view on it, and how do Iraqis in general feel about it?

Iraq & Iran relations are friendly but not an alliance, the weakness of Iraq post 2003 opened the door for Iran’s influence thus the relationship isn’t healthy, the gov of Iran meddles too much in the internal affairs but this was expected after the fall of the regime, until the state regains it’s strength meddling continues, airspace control will play a major role just as other military development.

What do you mean with Iranian intervention ? an attack on Iran ?

I just support development, can’t speak for others busy with the religious battles of 1000+ years ago.

.
Thanks a lot dude. By intervention I mean getting into the internal affairs of Iraq.

It appears that after 2003, Iran has been negatively influencing the internal policies of Iraq. This is similar in a way to the Syrian’s influence on Lebanon after the end of the Lebanese Civil war.

The most dangerous thing Iran is doing is creating and funding semi-organized militias. This keeps the central government almost powerless, which is exactly what Iran wants.

I know that some political groups in Iraq are pretty comfortable with this since Iranians know how to play the religious cards very well (while hiding thier real agendas very well too).

That said, I equally know that Iraqis don’t easily bow to power and that such Iranian influence won’t last long.

Nope. Saudi or Turkish government should not interfere either. If Iraq’s prosperity matters to you, and yet you seriously think that Persian Iranians will guide you to it - then I am sorry to say that you are digging a whole in a sea.

Best of luck with that.

Part will be trainer jets part light attack jets according to some sources, let’s see if tech transfer/local licensed production will come with other deals ( tanks, artillery ) after this deal.

FA-50, Iraq’s version upgraded & AESA radar they say.

What mid to long range air to air missile would come with T/FA-50. Or it would be handicapped like F-16s without AMRAAMs. AFAIK South Korea ordered AIM-120 C-7 AMRAAM from US because they have no in home mid-long range BVR missile/development.

Iraq isn't facing a real external threat to obtain this kind of technology.

The congress won't approve anything without studying it careful, they fear that some of their stuff could easily end up in Iran's hand.

If Iraq is not facing threat and they need no AMRAAMs than there isn't point in acquiring FA-50 [Trainer/Fighter dual variant] or like of it is there? If the fear is weapons would be passed on to Iran than pretty much any Aircrafts can be flown to Iran.

He welcomes it because those jets will go straight to Tehran after delivery:partay:
War against iran mean war against the people too you didn't fought the iranian army or IRGC you fought against people too we massacred your republican gaurd like goats and we slaughtered your Ba'ath like sheep if you want war we are ready for it

Besides AIM-9 Sidewinder, FA-50 has provisions for, but does not yet integrate, Python and Derby missiles. I;'m assuming same for AIM-120. Also, DAPA has revealed plans to develop a full line of short- and medium-range air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles and precision-guided munitions.

Good job my mother's country I hope you built your armed forces fast
That was a great choice and South Korean products are very well made. Beside that they picky how they will be used. Just like the Russian, they don't impose limitations.

That BS the one who is trying to dismantle Iraq is your country, all the killing are ordered and paid by your country. Iran, like every country in the area, is protecting her interest, but she is not killing people. A shia doesn't kill a Shia, they gladly hang a Saudi by the balls like everybody Else...
