Iran's long range air defence system- Sayyad 3

Iran is currently finalising it's Bavar-373 long range air defence systems, however, Iran currently has in place another long range air defence (Bavar will even longer range). It is called Talash-3 (name of missile is Sayyad-3) . This systems has a range of 120km and uses a unique active and semi active seeker. and has been in service for a few years now.

There are a variety of radar this systems can use, including potentially the 250km ranged, Hafez type AESA:

Pakistan Iran and Turkey need to develop good air defence systems...especially against stealth airplanes like F35 since Israeli airforce has got some already.

Iran's air defence is already very well capable against stealthy targets. That's one of the main focuses of Iranian air defence. For example, there are a whole array of long wavelength systems deployed in Iran. Would love to see these systems go to Pakistan too. Really unfortunate that we've not seen cooperation yet. Both nations have much to offer each other.

Yes bro, it went into production few years ago. Now we're waiting for Bavar-373 to come into production. It's undergoing its final tests.

It's definitely a much more complex and advanced systems compared to the Talash-3.

Any thoughts what the range of Bavar's missile will be? It will definitely be 200km+.
I feel the Talash is a completely seperate systems. I am intrigued to know how many SAM's Bavar will have.

sayyad 3 is just the missile used in the talash 3 system. bavar 373 will use sayyad 4 missile (larger version of sayyad 3 - photo on the next page)

s-300pmu2 uses 48N6E2 with 200km range which is upgraded 48N6E (120km range), so I would guess up to 200km given sayyad 3 has range of 120km already

talash 3 (with sayyad 3/2) is to replace s-200, bavar 373 (with sayyad 4) is to supplement s-300
