So childish. I never said that Iran did not have a history before Islam. I said, that history is no more greater than Greek, Egypt, China, Roman, Indian and African history. Go check my comments. You run away from that argument in the other thread by a personal attack on me. You have to understand that despite the ancient roots of Iran, the world does not revolve around you. People respect you for what you are and not for what you were. A very tiny minority of Iranians think because there were glories in their pre-Islam history, then this gives them the right to abuse every one else. This minority also thinks that their race is above every one else and even religion of God. This ultra-nationalists in Iran are racist people who have nothing to offer to the world except their arrogance and praise for a dreamed up past. They are no more different than Nazis and that is why this minority had good relations with Hitler's regime in 1930's. I believe this minority is a shame for great Iranian culture and history and should be shunned not only by Iranians but also by foreigners. You can go on and introduce ancient Iranian culture and surely we are going to enjoy and learn but not even for a second think that you are superior to anyone else or your ideology superior to Islam. That is the point of contention here.

separating Islamic culture from Iran is a mistake as separating ancient Persian culture from Iran.
we kept Persian culture as long as they were not against Islam and that helps us to enjoy both Islamic and per-Islamic culture.
there is not major movement against Islam in Iran but some Bahaei's or some youth who are not happy with current political system or even not political system but politicians and they are returning to pre-islamic culture in react to mis management of current supreme leader. unfortunately current leaders are narrow minded and where as they are islamic scholars then their mistake goes in to Islam's account.
ordinary Iranian live based or Islamic culture or at least they are not against Islam.

Honestly it is the first time i am hearing this about Rostam, i think the era of Rostam goes back before Islam. again, i could be mistaken.

I never said that and never meant that, but they were keen, for example, the British, constantly were calling Timorshah as King Of Afghaistan, while he himself was calling himself the King of Khorasan.

Not related, but we can well include it in our argument. If the name afghanistan was chosen by all parties as council etc, then no objection to it, but why should we accept it as the ethno nationalists imposed the name on everybody else? secondly, the same nationlaists and nationalist kings/cabinet/policy makers have chosen to claim on your territory, why is that not accepted to you but you are very keen more than anybody else that the name is suitiable for us? which is in fact hurting us and our unity.

NO Tariq, his name was Rustam Chobin( رستم چوبین ) who took part in the battle you mentioned. The original Rustam is a legendry figure ( and also his son Sohrab) among us. Ferdowsi Toosi has many tales about them in his famous book Shahnamah.
