Iran’s drones now carry high-precision smart missiles that can hit high-speed vehicles with pinpoint accuracy, according to a senior military commander in Tehran.

Iran's home-made drones are equipped with high-precision smart missiles, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said, Iranian news agency reported.
The Iranian drones can fly thousands of kilometers, Salami added, noting that they can capture images and transmit them directly or indirectly to on-ground stations.

Iran in September unveiled a newly-developed drone equipped with home-made hi-tech air-based missiles.

"These new drones are capable of destroying different types of aircraft, including fighter jets, drones and helicopters," Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said.

Also in September, Iran unveiled a new drone named 'Sadeq 1' which flies at a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet at supersonic speeds.

In September 2012, Iran announced that it had started using UAVs in its air defense units as part of its broader plans for strengthening the country's air defense capability.

Iran’s drones will now be equipped with high precision smart missiles travelling at supersonic speed, Fars news agency reported today.

“The new drones are capable of destroying different types of aircraft that include fighter jets, drones and helicopters,” Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami was quoted as saying by Fars.

“Teharan’s new indigenous drones can fly thousands of kilometers and are equipped with precision smart missiles that can capture images and transmit them directly or indirectly to on-ground stations,” Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami said.

Iran has also developed a missile-evading drone called ‘Sarallah’ that escapes thermal and air-to-air missile power in January 2015. It had unveiled a new drone named Sadeq 1 which can fly at supersonic speeds last September.

A.k.a

ANKA !!

too bad germens don't like you that much and sell you shitty engines :D

We have ANKA thread in Turkish section...why don't share your knowledge regarding to ANKA... ?
Like what makes Thielert Centurion 2.0 a bad engine ?

On topic, i have confidence that one day, Iranian friends will make the Millennium Falcon and we will travel to stars. :)

Iranian bros, c'mon....even YOU know that this sounds all propaganda. lol..

What kind of engines Iran is making that give their drones such sophistication? Any jet engine? anything?

Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Abdolrahim Moussavi said his forces have been equipped with suicide drones for special operations. "The Iranian Army uses different types of drones, including reconnaissance, surveillance and suicide drones" for different missions, Moussavi told the state-run news agency on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

"An instance of the operations conducted by the Army drones was displayed during the joint wargames of the Army forces staged in the Southeastern parts of the country late in December," he added.

Iran announced in January that it had successfully tested three suicide combat drones in the recent Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) wargames in December.

"We tested three models of suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which were a type of cruise missiles and have been fully manufactured by Iranian experts," Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari told reporters.

He noted that the tested drones enjoyed a very advanced technology and were from Ra'd (Thunder) 85 Class.

Iran has recently made giant advancements in aerospace industries, specially in designing and manufacturing pilotless drones.

Also in September 2013, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced that the country's suicide combat drone named 'Ra'd 85' (Thunder 85) was capable of destroying fixed and mobile targets.

No !

cruise missiles cannot hover over the target and precise-target them with FLIR :)

you fire the cruise missile and its gone !! you cannot change its course .

So if they don't find the target or change the target at the last minute can they alter course mid-flight and return to base? If so then it becomes a reusable cruise missile. India is working on something like that.

looks crude. but then again it's destined to be blown into a thousand pieces.

Not every cruise missile. Tomahawk/Babur class of Cruise Missiles have albeit limited 'loiter capability'. They can hang around the targer for a limited period, depending on fuel and mission requirements. Both Raad & Babur have inbuilt self destruction capability should they go off course or the target is no longer green and missile can't be left for enemy to have access to.
