TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Indonesian counterpart Rento Marsudi in a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.
During the meeting in the Iranian capital today, Zarif and Marsudi underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation between Tehran and Jakarta.

The Iranian and Indonesian foreign ministers also discussed the regional crises.

Marsudi's visit to Tehran takes place at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.

The Indonesian foreign minister is heading a high-ranking delegation comprising Indonesian energy minister, Indonesian president's special envoy on Middle East and head of Indonesia's oil company.

In April, Iranian and Indonesian Presidents Hassan Rouhani and Joko Widodo in a meeting in Jakarta explored different avenues for the further consolidation of relations between the two countries.

Also in June, Indonesian Energy Minister Sudirman Said underlined that his country was keen to increase its long-term crude imports from Iran.

Jakarta is in talks with Tehran for a long-term oil supply deal to meet its rising demand for crude as the country is expanding its refineries," Sudirman said.

He reiterated that his country was waiting for the removal of the western sanctions imposed against Tehran.
