Iran: Jundullah had attempted assassination of Ahmadinejad

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The report released on the sidelines of an exhibition in Northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad concurrent with the 100th provincial visit of Ahmadinejad said that the group linked to Abdolmalek Rigi had planned to assassinate the president in 2007 in the city of Iranshahr, in southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province during a provincial trip, but the Iranian security forces managed to discover and thwart the attack.


The group has sought damaging national security and prepared 3 of its members for suicide attack.

Also 4 Iranian police members and an Intelligence Ministry employee were martyred in the operation.

4 key members of Rigi terrorist group were killed and some weapons and ammunitions of the terrorist group was discovered and confiscated.

The exhibition also shows crimes of Jundallah terrorist group linked to Rigi.
