Iran to Purchase Russian Satellite Equipment, Superjet in $21Bln Deal

Tehran signed contracts worth $21 billion with Moscow for the purchase of satellite-related equipment, as well as Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) aircraft, at the MAKS-2015 international air show, the managing director of Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO) told Sputnik Saturday.

TEHRAN (Sputnik) — The Iranian delegation visited the MAKS-2015 air show held in the Russian city of Zhukovsky in the Moscow Region between August 25 and August 30.


"There is a large share of contracts for the purchase of this type of aircraft," Manouchehr Manteghi stated, not specifying, however, the exact number of jets.

In late August, Iranian Vice President Sorena Sattari told the Russian Kommersant daily that the country was holding active talks with Russia on the purchase of at least two types of military aircraft. Tehran was also interested in using Russian rocket carriers to launch satellites into orbit, according to Sattari.

The Superjet 100 is a twin-engine regional passenger jet, which became commercially available in 2011.

Well, then it would be kinda, ... strange ... if no to say more...
Russian was for years critisized by west for "supporting offencive Iran", made a lot in UN, including (as many resources're saying) prevented agression of EU/uas/Israel coalition against Iran. After all that Iran's gov (and actually sosiety too) should be very ... weird ... to go that deep "kissings" with those who humiliated you so long. If I were in place of Iran, I would just think: "well, I'd rather go supporting Russian and other countries industries + cooperate with them gaining TOT, expertise etc. to always have alternative to wester tech, which makes them (the west) so arrogant towards other nations and actually belive that they're only humans and all others are sorta subhumans (and the one having eyes could clearly see it in modern europ/west, just see the ugly person as markuss.151420 in other tipic related, so you could clearly see, it would be like a woman would go and praise, and give everything to someone who just brutally raped her )"

Why would you order garbage when you can have airbus? That superjet is trash and evryone knows that. Its only ordered from poor nations who cant afford better and even auerbaijan cancelled all orders and switched to A320. I saw in Iran, that they want quality, if they order this, they will fall back in 3rd world status and iran deserves better.ä
Getting good planes was a mayor aspect for iran to make a deal with the west.

to add more: Pakistan, Iran, all other countries of the region should really consider their interest (and they would find that - HAVING MORE CHOICE IS NOTHING ELSE THAN GREATE then just living in the world of solid western dominance) and unite with Russian, Chine, themselfs and all other nations, create a thechological alliances and develop their own economies togather, rather then just being slaves of the west; cuz (having) CHOISE is the thing to fight for in this life!
From the point of tech/quality/reliability isses Russia have been in AeroSpace field from the beginning; From Zhukovsky (Nikolay Yegorovich Zhukovsky - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), Igor Sikorsky to Mil, Kamov, Tupolev, Ilyushin and many, many more greate scientists who were working hard to make this world better. So, kinda Russian has huge exprerience/expertise withing the tech in general, and Aerospace in particular = it knows how to make very greate RELIABLE planes.
