Iran to Export 1mln Serological Coronavirus Kits to Germany
TEHRAN (FNA)- Spokesman of the Scientific and Technological Department of Iran's Presidential Office Parviz Karami announced that the Iranian company which exported 40,000 serological coronavirus test kits to Germany on Tuesday will send 1mln more of its product to the European state soon.
“The first cargo of kits sent to Germany was special to test 40,000 people but according to the CEO of the company the number will increase to 1mln in the next 10 to 15 days,” Karami said on Wednesday.
He added that the Iran-made serological kits will also be exported to Turkey early next week, noting that the Central and South American states and a number of European countries have also demanded to purchase the Iranian kits.
A knowledge-based company in Iran which has succeeded in the mass-production of serological kits to diagnose COVID-19 virus announced on Tuesday that it would export its product to Germany.
“After production of serological kits to diagnose COVID-19 virus via the ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) method, we had numerous demands from 60 countries to export them,” Yasha Farrokhzad, the CEO of the knowledge-based company, told FNA on Tuesday.
He added that his company has been an exporter of medical equipment for 18 years and has dispatched its products to over 25 countries so far.
“Today, we will export over 40,000 serological test kits to Germany,” Farrokhzad said.
Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari on April 11 inaugurated the production line of serological kits in Iran.
He said that 2mln sets of this type of kits will be produced in Iran each week.
Serological kits find antibody to see if a person's immunity system has responded to coronavirus disease or not.
On the same day, the production line of home-made PCR kits for the diagnosis of coronavirus infection was also unveiled.
“This type of kits acts based on analysing the PCR (of patients) test, and a sum of 100,000 kits of this type can be produced each week,” Sattari said at the time.
