Iran successfully tests anti-radar system

Iran successfully tested an anti-radar system on Sunday during a massive maneuver currently underway in the Straight of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.

Iranian warships and Sadaf and Miraj fighter jets also participated in the operations on the fifth day of the eight-day Velayat-89 war games, which started on Wednesday and cover a span of about 250,000 square kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz to the northern Indian Ocean.

The Miraj is an interceptor fighter which is equipped with an air-to-air missile system, Air Force officer Navid Shayani said on Sunday.

Sadaf fighters are equipped with a system that enables the aircraft to identify all radio and radar signals in all frequencies in order to obtain information from the enemy, Shayani added.

In addition, on Sunday Iranian warships were able to successfully disappear from the hypothetical enemy’s radar screens.

Using special domestically manufactured missiles that disrupt enemy radar systems, the warships were able to evade the hypothetical enemy’s guided missiles.

The Iranian missile explodes in the air after being fired and fragments into layers of aluminum that become decoys that are then targeted by the enemy missiles.
