Iran-Pakistan Bonds Everlasting
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Chairman of Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group said that the cordial bonds between the two Muslim and neighboring states of Iran and Pakistan may never be untied.
Speaking during a meeting with Pakistani Ambassador to Iran, chairman of IPPFG Ali Akbar Aqa'ee described the two nations' historical, cultural and religious commonalities a strong cornerstone for the development of all-out relations, stressing the need for reinvigorating the two states' common points and defusing the negative elements.
The parliament member further voiced his country's preparedness for the bolstering of ties with Pakistan, in economic and trade areas in particular, stressing that Tehran perceives no obstacles in the way of the two countries' all-out relations.
Noting the role of the two parliaments, particularly the role of the parliamentary friendship groups, in supporting the development and expansion of the two sides' brotherly relations, he underlined that promotion of parliamentary cooperation would play a significant role in the enhancement of the existing friendly ties.
The chairman of the parliament's Development Commission pointed to the formation of the two countries' joint commission in Islam Abad in June 2006 and termed it a desirable opportunity for the reinvigoration of the existing economic and trade ties.
Referring to the influential role of the parliamentary friendship groups in the development of relations, he said, "The point that Pakistani President has taken up the responsibility of the Iran-Pakistan friendship group and that the group also includes some outstanding figures illustrates the depth of the two states' friendly ties.
For his part, Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran described the two countries' relations desirable and friendly and reminded Pakistani Parliament Speaker's invitation to Haddad Adel to pay a visit to that country, expressing hope that the visit would take place in the near future.
