Iran-Made Medicine Yields Positive Results in Curing AIDS Patients in Mali
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior official of Iran's Red Crescent Society announced that HIV-infected patients in Mali have shown positive reactions to the Iran-made AIDS curing drug, Imod, in the course of their treatment.

"We have been witnessing highly positive results of Iran-made Imod drug on AIDS patients in Mali during the last two years," Deputy of RCS for Health, Treatment and Rehabilitation Abdolreza Shahrezayee told FNA.

He underlined Iran's extended health and treatment services in Mali, and said HIV-positive patients are being cured by Imod in RCS's polyclinic.

Iranian scientists in 2007 found a safe and effective cure for the dreaded virus, AIDS. This medicine made up of herbal and chemical components works to build immunity and enhance the quality of life of both AIDS and HIV-positive patients with no proven side effects.

Iran, which has taken wide strides in science and technology, particularly in medical and medicinal fields, in recent years, is helping Mali control and contain HIV infection across the African nation.

Before the trolls pour in here,I should add that this medicine doesn't completely cure aids (at least not proven yet),but it prevents further growth of the disease and gives the patients much more life expectancy.

I guess it helps build up their immunity again. After all it's not the AID's that kills you.

Glad you brought that up, was gonna say most likely remission, not cure...still great news. There are already medicine regimens that can put the disease in remission...but if this is cheaper, or easier (current regimens are complex and a LOT of pills), will be helpful...especialy in poor nations.

Once I remember I read Iran and U.S universities are working together on a cure,I don't exactly remember where it was,but I hope it's still true.Nothing is impossible, and a complete cure for this horrible disease is one of them.I hope we (or any other country) reach that goal very soon to prevent death of millions of people.

AFAIK, this doesn't cure AIDS, just gives artificial immunity to the patient. Remember, no one dies coz' of AIDS, they dies because their body looses immunity to fight over other diseases, and under such circumstances, even a normal fever can be deadly.

I short, i mean that even a terminal AIDS patient can live like an HIV infected person.

Still a big achievement.
