Iran stretches from Louisiana in the south to Nebraska in the north. America would need to deploy hundreds of thousands of soldiers to occupy a land as big as Iran. And America is too poor to do that. Heck, even Iraq which is a fraction the size of Iran was too difficult for America to occupy.
