Iran has developed a new military transport aircraft Faraz-140T

By Dylan Vosman - Aug 27, 2015

The first flight model of the latest Iranian military transport plane Faraz-140T , established on the basis of the Ukrainian An-140 will be assembled in 2016

Now assembled the prototype of Faraz-140T for ground tests.

Maximum load Faraz-140T is 6 tons, range and altitude – 3900 km and 7200 m respectively. The aircraft reached a maximum velocity of 533 km / h.

Well change the velocity to speed and it will be good.
But 6 tons seems a little low to me.

But isn't it better to change its engines first and then its name ?
Well i don't think this name "faraz " brings more luck for the bird.
Max speed of 533 = still the same engine . The same infamous engine...?!

"Cooperation with Ukraine on this issue continues, although the current crisis it more complicated," - said the source. He also said that Iranian experts "ready to fully establish its own production of the new aircraft."

Iran, he said, needs these machines and "intends to produce as many of these aircraft as it can."

Earlier, Iran produced under the license "Iran-140» (IrAn-140) with the support of the State Enterprise "Antonov".

"At the moment, the program is minimized due to the number of accidents. In the event of technical problems, it may be restarted, "- the source added."

Damn shame...:suicide:

When they insist on reviving a failed project in a new fashion despite all the fundamental problems one concludes that there is a monkey business going on.
They may have thought that it's better to have a few martyr soldiers than dozens of dead civilian passengers.

Doesn't this aircraft have engine problems at above 38 degrees celsius weather temperature? May be they should donate the whole line to Antarctica project!

If I am not mistake, there is a project to change the engine of the IR-140. Can't remember the name.

lol

bro , IrAN-40 enjoys one of the most advanced powerplants in the world : the kilmov TV3 engine .

TV-3 is originally a helicopter engine so it had a different use , when converted to this new version for airplanes it had some problems which got fixed .

now why the crashes ? OVERLOAD is the best answer . like every other engine on planet earth , they have a certain power ! :D now exceed that and it simply fails to keep the aircraft in the air . this is not the aircraft's fault but the incompetent clients which use it .

as simple as that . Iran produces a very advanced engine locally . thats something very valuable .

it's not a damn shame , it's really a perfect start . it only needs more research and work into it .

What went wrong with the airplane whom went down in Tehran? They said it was due to the engine not suitable to work at above 38 degrees? Have you read that? Did Ukraine screw us on these engines or is it our own fault? You are saying they already found a fix for this issue and it would be safe to use this airplane?

What i am saying is that the cause of the crash was engine failure DUE to weight overload not the engine being screwed up .

as i said , TV3 is a very advanced and capable engine . the incompetency of our crew shouldn't be blamed on the engine .

Above 38 degrees ? i donno about that since TV3 is originally a helicopter engine . it's designed to work at higher angles ! o_O

And yes , due to the fact that it had to be reconfigured and redesigned to work as a plane's engine , we had some problems with it . what i've heard from credible source is that it was either fixed or on the verge of being fixed .

maybe @SOHEIL can give more info

ALCON , the engine is really a good step-up for Iran . the ones who bought the tech from Ukraine knew what they are doing of course .

haman jan mishe beporsam chera az ye ashghaale ukraini ke baese marge hamvatanaat vasate bolvaar shode va hameja elaam kardand ke in motor be dard e havay e garme iroon nemikhore defa mikoni ? alan ke iran az tahrim dar miad mitoone havapeymahay e kheyli behtari tahte lisans tolid kone. Ir-140 ye eshtebaahe bozorg bar paayeye siasathaye ghalat bood ...
hadeaghal harfesh bood motoresho mikhan jet konan. age amali bashe khoobe vali edameye saakht ba oon motore ashghal tojihi nadare ...
agha chera ghazie ru ehsasi mikoni :D

man eteghad daram ke een motor ayandeye khoobi dare hamin . the fact that it has failed to bring about a good performance in Planes and especially Iranian ones has nothing to do with the fact that it's a good engine .

what i'm trying to say is : it can indeed have a very good future for our next generation Aircrafts and Helos .

it needs time and effort and much more modification in to it , thats very true . but abandoning the engine alltogether is mere stupidity .

trust me , people who know much much more than we do are in charge of the project .

let's cut them some slack while holding both them and the aircraft crew accountable for what happened .
