Iran-China 25 year cooperation plan approved

But how much trades between the Han and Persia and between the Han or the Ming and SE Asia?

China traded in the past more with SE Asia than any country in the world. Even today China trades more with Asean than the US or EU.
Silk road doesn't end in persia, it includes Arab and end up at Rome, you can tell which one is more important when Han and Tang invested heavily on maintaining the safty of silk road,
asean doesn't come close back then.

Is there any figure how much trade volumes in the Tang, the Minh with Arabs, Persia?
I mean that is a long way between Shanghai and Teheran. Back then the main transport means are on the backs of camels. The number of porcelain and chopsticks you could transport on camels would be extremely limited.

Whereas Asean is next door. In addition to land routes, there were numerous sea powers: the Cham, the Viet, the Chinese, the Javanese, the Malay.

as I said, on camel backs.
That’s a long road.
It took months one way.

TEHRAN, Jul. 24 (MNA) – Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations said that a 25-year comprehensive cooperation document between Islamic republic of Iran and China is a normal and natural issue.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi made the remarks on Thu. and added, “Iran-China relations have a long history, so that bilateral agreement between the two countries is not an unusual issue."

He blamed US withdrawal from JCPOA for the current turmoil, stressing that it was the Americans who left the negotiating table after leaving JCPOA.

He described the US officials' claim that food and medicine were exempt from sanctions as ‘irrelevant’ and said that food and medicine imports are still the targets of US sanctions.

Takht-Ravanchi denied allegations that Iran was involved in an attack on tankers in the Persian Gulf, saying the allegations were baseless and that no evidence had been provided so far.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the US assassination of former IRGC Quds Force Commander Lt. Gen. Soleimani and termed the assassination of anti-terror hero as the greatest gift of the US handed to terrorists.

Following the assassination of Gen. Soleimani, ISIL and its allies celebrated the assassination, because, martyr Lt. Gen. Soleimani knew well how to deal effectively with these extremist currents.

Referring to the Iraqi Prime Minister's visit to Tehran, Takht-e Ravanchi said that Iran and Iraq have traditional and historical ties and added, "US actions can not affect relations between Iran and its neighbors."

Iran and China are also natural allies whose cooperation is in the interests of both countries, he said, adding, “Iran-China agreement is not unusual either.”

Iran wants good relations with its neighbors, including its southern neighbors, but it is the United States that does not want such relations between Iran and its neighbors, Iran UN envoy added.

TEHRAN, Jul. 22 (MNA) – An Iranian lawmaker said that "as China is a good political and economic partner for Iran, the strategic cooperation with this country would influence our economy positively".

Speaking in an interview with Mehr News Agency, Ali Akbar Karimi made some remarks over the Iran-China 25-year document, noting that China is one of the world's great political, economic and international powers and it is a permanent member of the Security Council which has veto power.

He went on to note that unlike the United States and some European countries, China has never had a colonial and domineering approach towards the Iranian nation in the past.

“Although the United States and European countries have always sought to weaken China's economic influence and power in the world, this country has steadily grown in such fields,” he said, adding, “Despite its economic interactions with Western countries, China is also a serious competitor to the United States and Europe.”

“On this basis, Iran's strategic and long-term cooperation with China would bring some positive effects on our economy,” he said, adding that China is a good partner for Iran both politically and internationally, and in terms of economic power it can help us get through sanctions.

According to this lawmaker obtaining china’s modern technology, expanding oil and nonoil export to this country as well as attracting millions of Chinese tourists to Iran can be considered as achievements of this bilateral agreement.

Iran-China 25 year cooperation plan approved
June 22, 2020

The Cabinet of Ministers in a meeting on Sun., headed by President Hassan Rouhani, approved the final draft of a 25-year comprehensive cooperation between Islamic Republic of Iran and China.

In this meeting, President Rouhani pointed to the age-old historical ties between the two countries of Iran and China and added, “The historical relations between the two countries have been manifested in various cultural, economic and political fields.”

He termed the new condition in bilateral ties between the two countries ‘strategic importance’ and added, “advancement of strategic participation between the two countries in regional and international relations based on win-win approach is the main and basic objective of this long-term plan.”

This cooperation lays the ground for Iran-China participation in basic projects and development infrastructures including “Belt-Road” project and will provide an opportunity for the attraction of investment in various economic fields such as industry, tourism, communications and information technology [ICT], he emphasized.

Stressing on expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, Rouhani termed the agreement on this comprehensive plan as a positive step towards increasing the significance of global energy and sustainable development of oil and gas resources as well as renewable energies.

Rouhani also considered joint investment of the two countries in the development of free zones ‘beneficial’ in promoting the role of these zones in international production and trade.

Following the study of a 25-year comprehensive cooperation plan between Iran and China, Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was tasked to pave suitable ways for two concerned parties in signing and sealing the plan based on long-term mutual interests.

Is this to do with the $400 billion investment?
