If true, this is both hilarious and out of this world! No more "Zir abi" for drug addicts! LOL

Mehr News Agency - Iran builds detector of explosives, narcotics

TEHRAN, Dec. 23 (MNA) – Researchers of a knowledge-based company have developed a tracker to detect drugs and explosives.

In an interview to Mehr News, Seyed Ali Hosseini, the inventor of the radar tracker in Gilan Science and Technology Park and Mazandaran Medical Sciences Center, said that the radar tracker was designed and built to detect drugs, explosives, bodies alive and dead under the rubble, addictive drugs and alcoholic beverages.

Hosseini pointed out that the device was composed of two parts, the transmitter and receiver.

“The transmitter part consists of radio waves and radio magnets emitting waves across the earth and stimulates elements’ molecular layer and releases their ions."

He went on saying that, "the receiver detects ions as well as the molecular layer, then transfers waves back to the target to detect their essence.”

He said the device could measure the diameter of the material, if it was embedded into the ground or elsewhere.

“Data of tracked elements are displayed in 3D on computer system which includes the volume, weight and size of the traced elements,” Hosseini added.

Stating that the device was first built in radar form, Hosseini said, “the tracking device can be applied by the police, border guards, security agents and during unexpected accidents and disasters.”

He said at the end that the device could detect drug addicts from a distance of 1500 meters and determine the degree of addiction inside their bodies.

If true, it is a revolution in security! No highjacks! No more suicide bombers! It is wonderful.

Even here, just imagine if police could detect drunk drivers behind the wheel from distant. The lives that could be saved!

Why reinvent the wheel ? There are already sophisticated machines and ways available to detect both in open market.

The answer to your question is simple! They won't sell it to us.

But if so, why can't they still detect the threats in the airport? There was scandal just yesterday in your country. FBI detected a weapon smuggler group composed of flight attendants that carried the weapons inside their luggage and had been doing it for some time. They should have been able to detect it at the first instance if they have the above technology.

@Serpentine

is this Spectrometer ?
No it's not, spectrometer works differently, as @kollang said, each material has its own unique spectrum of remitted waves which makes us able to detect and distinguish them.

Don't know what this guy has built and how exactly it works.

Because , you must think about future , right now some human right moron are lobbying so UN stops its cooperation with Iran in the matters related to drug control unless Iran abolish death sentence for drug dealers .
