UAE and the GCC are in it for the market, and likely will continue to engage with India so long as they see the potential to make money.

Sanctions on Iran made it extremely hard for India to engage with Iran economically - we'll have to wait and see if that remains the case if/when US sanctions are removed from Iran.

UAE, Saudi, oman and/or Kuwait will not learn this lesson, not in the near future.. This would all continue without enhancing strategic ties as UAE and India are attempting to do.

I'm not really sure what UAE's grand strategic goals are. World is splitting into 2 camps...USA bloc and China bloc. I assume UAE will be try to be neutral between the two camps ...or do they want to be only in the USA camp? Do they want to militarily confront Iran or Turkey? Do they want to focus on economic development and build an Arabs only EU? Will they include non Arab Islamic countries? Or will it be a secular economic bloc of USA proxies?

My sense right now is that UAE will become American agent trying to push for regional cold war with Turkey and Iran, keeping the region split and weak.....So they can maintain status quo as long as possible.

Too many unknowns at this point about their intents. But I am certain about one thing though... If things go south and serious shooting starts between UAE and whoever.....India will do little for them. Iraq, Kabul, and Armenia are testaments to this.
