Some Pak officials aiding terrorists

Iran's deputy interior minister says some local Pakistani officials have issued travel documents for terrorists involved in Wednesday's deadly bombing attack.

"Terrorists get their travel documents from some local Pakistani officials," Ali Abdollahi told IRNA, stressing that Tehran believed these officials were “connected” to the terrorists.

At least 33 people, including women and children, were killed and 83 others were wounded in an attack, which occurred at the Imam Hussein mosque in Chabahar on Wednesday.

People were commemorating the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam.

The terrorist group Jundallah has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Jundallah, a Pakistan-based terrorist group, has carried out numerous bombings, assassination attempts, and terrorist attacks in Iran.

Its leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crimes, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.

"The confessions of Abdolmalek Rigi confirm that the base of these terrorists is in Pakistan," the Iranian official said.

Abdollahi said terrorists are believed to receive training in Pakistan, criticizing Islamabad for ignoring Iran's repeated calls to adopt proper security measure.

Chabahar Governor Ali Bateni announced on Wednesday that Iran's security and civil forces had arrested one of the perpetrators of the attack.

The United Nations, the United States, Britain, France, Jordan and Lebanon's Hezbollah movement have condemned the terrorist attacks.

I think Pakistan's foreign office need to ask for explanation to this rhetoric.
I hopelessly hope to hear a Zardari's response.

i highly doubt the validity of those claims.....but he's free to voice his opinion

Instead of ranting against Pakistan why don't govt of Iran control it's own Sistan Baluchistan properly.

TEHRAN: Iran faces increased unrest in one of its southeastern provinces, U.S. diplomats in Azerbaijan reported in a cable disclosed by the website WikiLeaks.

A rail line connecting Iran and Pakistan "has recently been repeatedly subject to rocket attacks and other disruption" by tribes in Sistan-Balochistan province, according to a June 2009 cable from the U.S. Embassy in Baku.

In addition, one source told U.S. diplomats, Tehran was "rife with rumors" that police were leaving their posts empty at night "due to the increased danger of attack."

It added, "According to one source, the Iranian security forces may be losing effective control over growing areas in the countryside."

The document is among the vast cache of U.S. State Department papers that WikiLeaks, a website known for leaking official secrets, began releasing Sunday to widespread condemnation from the United States and its allies.

The cable cited another source who said the government of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad aggravated the situation by harassing Sunnis and appointing a "stupid, brutal" ally as governor until 2008.

"He claimed that these practices, combined with high unemployment, perceived discrimination and few government services, has increased anger among Balochis, and identification of the central government as an 'enemy,'" the cable states.

Iran losing ‘control' in Sistan-Balochistan province

.
Baluchistan is Sunni majority province of Iran and people are unhappy with regime.

.
doesnt mean we should meddle in their sphere; same way they shouldnt meddle in ours

we share mutual concerns; especially on terrorism in that area as well as smuggling of goods & humans

of course there are also diverging interests

There are some people here who jump at every opportunity to point fingers at Iran. I would suggest those individuals give it a break, especially when it comes to taking topics like this off course by bringing sectarianism into them.

Pakistan is and will always cooperate with Iran to make both countries a safer place.

There are other threads for this discussion anyway. Thread closed.
