Iran begins issuing 30 days Visa on Arrival

Your referring to visa free travel to EU for Turks?
Mate i dont think Turkey will ever be part of EU which is good, priviledged partnership as Germany proposes is a lot better.

They will. They will feel obliged if not beg Turkey to join. I know why you feel that way given 50 years of messing around when third rate muppets like Bulgaria etc have got in but Turkey with robust economy and pillar of NATO has not.

I give you example. I saw a programme once of the late great Irish actor Richard Harris. He narrated how wnen he first moved to UK from poor Ireland in 1950s. In those days most young Irish would emigrate abroad either to US or UK and all British cities had "Irish neighbourhoods". He told how as he walked around trying to find flat to rent he saw signs which said "No Irish or dogs".

Today trust me saying your Irish in UK is badge of honour. The Irish can't do any wrong. Even those with great great Irish ancestry will tout it like medallion. My point being the same will happen in Turkey. In UK Turks on the whole have a very, very positive image. In my town a new "Istanbul Shwarma" opened. It has lines running outside the pavement. I don't think the owner is Turkish as most of the workers are Kurds going as Turks. I can't speak neither Turkish or Kurdish but I can certainly tell the differance sounds.

Turkish fotball is also making it's mark. So yeh you will get in. It is only matter of time. Only question of how long. Besides anything Europe needs Turkey to block off Russia and control the migrant problem.

Anyway Ataturk was bang on right. I only wish we in Pakistan had got somebody of his stature. We had Ayub Khan who had similar policies and was inspired by Ataturk in 1960s but he lacked the stature and the right historical context to do what Ataturk did.

Ps. Yes, I was refering to the new Visa regime.

Mate its more complicated than that, Turkey will soon have the biggest population in Europe, joining EU means a immense shift in political balance, thats why UK is pushing for Turkish join while France and Germany oppose it.

This will make a lot things easier.

Huh?? Visa on arrival includes India as well????
That i didnt know....
India does have the highest shia population outside of iran.....
So it will bring a huge revenue in the form of religious pilgrimage.....
I have visited iran 2 times...
Both times i had to obtain visas...this was 2 years ago...
In the middle east, trust me Iranians are one of the most welcoming and happy people i have seen....
All of whom i met r secular liberal people....
they say they are a country of secular people led by a religious government....
Which is true as far as my experience....:)

I agree with you...Among the Muslim nations, Iran and its people are one of the most tolerant people at least for Indian and very welcoming to us...

.
I don't know about that . BD has always been a friendly country and an ally .

you see , Iraq , our #1 ally in the region has got it's visa-upon-arrival revoked .....

these laws are , as i said before , weird . @BDforever

Mod Edit

Guys...Visa on arrival is mostly an economic initiative rather than a political one...So although I was surprised India got it, but Pakistan is not getting does not mean Iran does not trust Pakistan rather they fear this visa on arrival may be misused by Baloch rebels or may be Gulf nationals who has access to Pakistan to enter into Iran..I think that that may be the reason and also, it depends If Pakistan and Iran have good amount trade then the traders needs visa on arrival...

If nothing is at stake, then no country provide visa on arrival.

@haman10 @Daneshmand

Have quite a few Parsi friends. They have always wanted to visit the archaeological sites in Iran. What sites would be the best to see? And will there be any discrimination against them?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I for one am definitely coming to Iran next year, if the visa policy holds true! Have heard really good experiences from my friend who used to travel to Iran regularly on business.

I dont see south africa on this list given the close ties especially as we are starting to get the prior oil import agreements back in place. I had to go through hoops to get visa to visit academia and also to see historical sites.
Great place to visit - beautiful country especially food. Very very safe and never had a problem. Felt very welcome through out.

Political relations =/= bilateral relation of 2 nations

Wahabis say the same thing about you guys.. So where will this end?
Nice point . Wahhabis kill others , we don't .

wahhabis just killed shia muslims in pakistan today for the crime of mourning the death of prophet's grandson .

Not only Wahabis.. Sectarian violence takes place from all the sides. Should be stopped. We all are Muslims.
