ISLAMABAD: The Iranian Cabinet has allocated a sum of US $100 million as fresh budget for relief assistance to the flood-affected people of Pakistan.
The decision comes in the wake of sermon of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed All Khamenei to Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in Tehran.
The priority will be given by Iran in allocating these amounts reconstruction of the devastated infrastructure caused by the floods in the affected regions of Pakistan.
The Supreme leader in his sermon referred to the devastating floods in Pakistan, and termed the calamity as the "most urgent issue of the Islamic World".
He expressed sorrow and regret, and urged the entire Muslims world to rush to the help of the Muslim and catastrophe-hit Pakistan.
He asked the government and the people of Iran, and other Islamic governments, Islamic bodies, including the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Muslim people in every part of the world to rush, with all of their resources, to help the people and government of Pakistan, and to meet various needs of the flood-affected people.
