Money has always made the world spin, but in the 21st century, money is god, heaven and earth combined. Call me a conspiracy nut, but if you guys do an audit on IOC member accounts you will probably find handsome "donations." There's literally no other explanation for this. The number of sports you could cut over this is enough to fill a page. On top of that this is one of the original sports! What's next? They're gonna drop track and field?!

They're blaming a bunch of random **** like global popularity! Well wrestling is the number one olympic sport in the East, and I'm not talking just Asia. In all of Eastern Europe, Russia, Greece, West Asia, Central Europe, India, Pakistan etc... Somebody needs to show them pop'n figures of these regions.

2012 London Olympic. Russia will lose the most.

Iran was aiming to overtake the top 2 in the coming Olympic events. I'd say it's Iran who will lose the most b/c wrestling is our main source of medals.

Yup it is very expensive. From what I have heard a normal good quality golf stick costs at least 200000PKR. Obviously a normal guy in Pakistan or in India can't afford anything like this. IOC has gone nuts.

btw, I was listening to an Iranian sports analyst and he made a good point. If Istanbul or Tokyo get the Olympics in 2020 than wrestling will be back. In Turkey wrestling is super popular and Japan is the best in female wrestling. However if Madrid gets it then they will probably cut it in favour of 200 meter swimming while balancing a tooth pick in your butt cracks.

lmao I first heard about this sport a few months ago. Of course I always knew about it, but I thought it's in the same category as a dog show if you know what I mean. I thought people are just showing off their horses the same way they show off their dogs. When I realized this is actually considered a sport I was shocked. The Olympics is just so useless these days.

Even more suitable sport for cut back would be professional sports like Football.They are like jury duty from which every athlete tries it'e best to escape.They have no following in Olympics.Most of these sports have their own championships which are considered pinnacle of sports rather than Olympics.

But USA can get more medals if they bring in a sport like "running backwards while licking a spoon." so even though they get a few medals in wrestling, they're not going to protest all that much.

If there were 300 medals available in martial art sports and wrestling than Central Asian countries/Iran/Turkey would get more medals than USA. But the system is rigged in their favour so more medals are allocated to sports they win medals at. And once they run out of legit categories for a sport like swimming, they literally start making **** up every which way to keep increasing the categories and medals.

Remember, Western Europeans don't make decisions on their own. Even if it looks like the IOC is occupied by Western Europeans, remember that ultimately they can't fart without checking with their owners.

Breaking news: IOC drops gymnastics in favour of professional dog showing

There will be 35 medals allocated to the sport of dog showing. Some categories include: best smelling wet dog, dog with the most ridiculous haircut and of course the show stopper of the event, dog with the best walk.
