That doesn't mean anything? It's about the QC's.

Sir, buy an inverter ac it saves much more electricity than 5 star onesHi,
Anyone has professional idea regarding inverter air conditioner ?
It's efficient in cooling and power saving
But people are saying it'smaintenance is expensive , repairs will cost a bomb
Where regular ac we can Change individual parts , inverter ac is fully automatic controlled by boards which has to be replaced for almost in many faults
Any opinion ..?
Chinese made things sold in US/OZ/NZ are quite different from the ones sold in India.India gets the ones from the bottom of the quality ladder because 1 INR ~= 0.1 RMB and the minimum wage in China is ~100 INR/hr.So most of the stuff sold in India is mass produced with minimum QC to keep it affordable.I think Panasonic comes from Malaysia, Daikin from Japan and Hitachi from India, but confirm once.
I bought a Samsung TV from Bangkok in 2012, in all the shops their USP was 'Made in Thailand' Samsung (better quality), in fact China Samsung models of the same products were cheaper. Or check Nokia, it was not only Android that killed it, their product quality took a nosedive after they shifted the production of those high-end 'N' series phones to China. Or Philips appliances, those used to be top class once, now these are quite third grade since they started sourcing from China. You can never be sure about the Chinese quality unless the production facilities are owned and run directly by the company. Chinese have the tendency to cut corners, it has gone into their blood.

For e.g I bought a Pigeon make "Electric Kettle" the wire was not rated for .7kW load, the plug wasn't insulated and even though it was a 3 Pin plug there was no earth wire in the cable.....Price Rs 900 and the cheapest I could get in NZ was NZ$40 because they wouldn't let these products into the country as they don't conform to the basic standards and QC costs money.Oh! and both were "Made in China"
What you pay is what you get when it comes to "Made in China".
Yet, you will see scandals like melamine laced milk sold under the reputed brands like Nestle, 'toxic toys' sold in Walmart, and kitchen knife and steel utensils high in lead content...all going to western countries! You can never be sure about the "Made in China/PRC" products no matter how much you pay! That's why I always try to be safe than sorry as much as possible.

If you want to buy Chinese then go with a local Chinese brand...foreign brands made in China are only for cost cutting and you will get substandard quality..
That's there the problem,
There is all type of Chinese product available,
There is no rating system to let the buyers know which one is of first quality ...
You have to trust your instinct and research..Haier and SG are very good..on par with LG and Samsung..
Samsung gives a 10 year warranty in compressor, unlike any.
Still I didn't buy it,
I already had one samsung Ac, that had problems in first year itself ..

A shop had offered blue star inverter ac for 42k ,
Blue star show room at 46 k nothing less...
This made be doubt the make in first shop, nice guy had offered me a good deal.
I was about to take delivery , then I noticed in the box , " country of origin PRC"
Then I had to leave without buying, went to blue star showroom enquired about the make..
He bragged that it's made in Himachal Pradesh.. Not china.
I asked him to show me the box for confirmation before buying .. To his shock , it s origin is from PRC
He enquired company officials for my sake,
The answer he gave was , components of Indoor unit were imported from china and assembled here, outdoor unit is ours..
Finally went to buy Toshibha inverterAc at 52 k, a full 10k higher than blue star inverter ac
Its made in Thailand, that everyone recommended .
I am not sure how indian companies who make it at around 40 k still not good in make..
They source components from china to make it affordable..,
Why are we not doing everything here ? It's only a Ac not F22
Why our make is not upto the mark ?
Why there is no quality assurance from government side , to ban import of low quality items,
