A landing party agreement signed between Cybernet Pakistan and PEACE Cable International Network Company Ltd is set to increase Pakistan's internet infrastructure capacity by 96 terrabits per second with the country's first carrier-neutral, open-access submarine cable system.

Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) Cable International Network Company Ltd and Cyber Internet Services Pvt Ltd (Cybernet Pakistan) signed the agreement on April 16 in Cairo, a press release said. A Memorandum of Understanding for the project was inked in 2018.

The PEACE cable system, with landings in Pakistan, Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya and France, will provide critical interconnectivity to the economic corridors of Asia, Europe, and Africa.

It is a 12,000-kilometre-long, privately owned cable system "that provides an open, flexible and carrier-neutral services for its customer", the press release said. The first phase of the project will connect Asia, Europe and Africa. PEACE is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2020.

Though I don't recommend ptcl, they are bad, like really really really bad. useless, incompetent and haram khoor.
You would be lucky to be able to get a stable connection on a copper line and fiber is not covered in every area, so it would suck if you are in a location where there is no fiber coverage. Though I have heard their fiber connections are good.

Damm for 1/2 the price of same we can get 1Gbps, capped to 2500GB pm.

I think India has the cheapest rates on broadband internet
Same cannot be said for Pakistan
Well as of now we are also getting free 100mbps line from JIO Fibre, until it makes a commercial launch. So I guess around 1-2yrs of free ussage in on the card :)

On the other hand we can get 75Mbps with 600GB monthly cap there after 8Mbps unlimited at INR 350 per month

Pakistan is the most expensive country of the world, be it housing, vehicles, appliances, food or communications.

We already have plenty of undersea cables. The question to be asked is that are we utilizing them properly to full capacity.

A years ago we wanted to takeover a portion of syndicate loan for one of these private submarine cables. I also prepared the proposal for the same using term sheet of the other banks that wanted to sell down. However, the management wanted to wait as the company's revenue numbers were not that great relative to what was projected previously as their other cable was not generating that much revenue at the time due to lack of utilization.

You need customers lined up to buy your bandwidth wholesale (preferably with own network/fibre optic after the landing station) on a multi-year contract basis so that you atleast do debt servicing after achieving COD.

If the buyer does not have own network near the landing station then he will have to use third party networks that increases the costs which may not be passed on to end users due to competition.
