China's claim is recently by ROC in 1947, after WW II.

Vietnam controlled and set up official administration on two Islands group from many hundred year ago. There wasn't trouble with China in the past.

There is the different bitween to claim of Vietnam and China. China invaded with force in to Paracels 1956, 1974; in to Spratly 1988.

you are again talking about who's right, and I already said I think that's pointless. because as Vietnam can claim China invaded the islands, China can claim that Vietnam stole the islands when China was weak and now she's just taking things back. China claims administration over Paracels a thousand years ago (Tang dynasty).

but, as I said before, there's no judge who decides who's right (or more right), when it comes to this kind of matters. that's simply reality.

what can Vietnam do? negotiate (and focus on development), war, or ask for help. I'll save on specifics, but my opinion is that the first is the best, and war is the last.

black-or-white thinking does not help anyone. compromises are necessary in a lot of cases.

Pls don't lying that China has claimed the administration on Islands in SCS from time of Tang Dynasty.

in fact, your ancesters have been recognized from ancient time that SCS was 交趾洋 Jiao Zhi Sea, the Sea of Jiao Zhi people (Vietnamese).

So that all the Islands in Jiao Zhi sea belong to Vietnam.

Problem now is that China deny to negociation on Paracel Islands.

again, these maps do not mean more than the maps you showed before (in terms of its influence on what's going on).

sovereign claims can only be valid under a system that recognizes such claims, just as property claims can only be valid under laws that recognize private properties. the current system was not in place until post-wwii, so far reaching claims before it are generally not automatically accepted.

they can be used for arguments though, so it's your right to show these maps and make your claims. but as long as the law of the jungle is dominating international relationships, like it is now, such arguments can hardly change anything.

In short, china does not have any evidence to prove its claims 80% of SCS, except a map of 11 dotted line which drawn by chiang kai shek in 1947.
So (the chinese) should stop lying about the so-called your historical right in SCS, that you do not have any evidence to support it.
P/S And also stop crying about Japan's Senkaku Islands,
not be greedy that what does not belong to you.
