What's new

International community united against North Korea as UNSC approves harshest sanctions in decades.

NK is one of the least productive countries in the world at present. People are starving there.

Well, the thing which is more controvsal is that the fact its an isolated country, no info goes in or out.
You cant be sure wether what you say about it is true, and they dont seem to be very keen on releasing the actual info out as well.

So whatever we say, or whatever we think, are different from the reality on the ground.

Although I do agree the kim's party has not been very progressive for the region at all but the point is that its an isolated country in the end, from the inside and the outside.

OMG,your delusion and ignorance is beyond repair```
just a casual trip to North East part of China's villages, there are literally thousands of North Koreans hiding there, to cross the boarder is at the cost of a bullet in their head from Kim, yet they still believe its worthy to try, North Korea is a living hell if not exaggerating

one interesting thing, if you look at all the pictures about N Koreans you can find from Internet, it seems in that country there is only one fat Kim, and the rest are all skinny and look like a Zombie``

Lol dont mind my friend Jamahir. He's a die hard 'socialist' alias lybian jamahiyira fan. So anything you say against a so called 'socialist' country's dictatorship and failings will by criticised by him. Lol NEVER MIND THAT EVEN THE SOCIALIST CHAVISMO VENEZUELA VOTED FOR SANCTIONS AGAINST THE CRAZY N.KOREAN KIM DYNASTY. LMAO.

GDP represents total economic output and activity of a country. It is not a meaningless indicator.

You are not aware of urbanization trends in Pakistan. Living standards of a large number of families have improved in Pakistan during the 21st century. Cities are growing bigger with passage of time as more individuals/families are able to afford living in them and migrate to them from rural environments. I have witnessed huge homes even in some villages.

Some facts and figures:

The urban / rural population ratio of Pakistan is approximately 40% / 60% at the moment. This is incredible progress.

FYI: Rural population (% of total population) in Pakistan

Pakistan's Middle Class is 18th largest in the world at the moment.

FYI: Pakistan has 18th largest ‘middle class’ in the world: report - The Express Tribune

Yes, poverty remains a fundamental problem but situation is not as bleak as it may seem to foreigners.

More oppressed would be an appropriate term. North Koreans do not have much say in the matters of state and most of them suffer in silence.

Majority

Why highlight an accomplishment that is no longer valid?

His views are largely distorted and misleading.

Simple: due to sanctions

Why are you wasting your time with Jamahir?? He will keep replying you with same old stories of how sucessful and great the Kim dynasty has been to the Korean people.
Funny thing is if N.Korea was instead more open and friendly to the west, then you can be 200% sure that him and many members on here would have flooded this thread with how backward, poor, dictatorship, evil the N.Korean regime is.:agree: That's the irony.

@jamahir , you always have an interesting position to posit. Very good to have someone like you here in PDF as it provides an alternative theorem.

Regards, my friend.

i think it will be interesting to conjecture if these sanctions may even bolster trade relations between pyongyang and beijing.

Are you forgetting that China drafted these sanctions with Western powers?
Are you are aware that Japan was at the forefront of countries urging the west and P5 members to adopt even more stricter/harsher sanctions against the N.Korean government you admire so much?? Seems your government keeps doing the total opposite i
Of everything you wish for. dreams...dreams...

The thing with ideologues is that they never let actual facts interfere with their hypothesis.

This is the same "pro-human" guy who repeatedly demands that NATO nuke "extreme capitalist India" :p:

. . . .
:enjoy:
Someday they will have their own foreign policy and not be a slave to the US. [insert US hegemony spiel yadda..yadda...yadda]
Good one.:partay:

The more you press them, the more hatred you will receive from NK.

IRAN, CUBA,MYANMAR have all come to.their senses and recognised that isolation, unecessary stubbornness/empty threats/radical rhetoric will only make their country weaker and set them back by decades. Reason they all sat down with western powers and negotiated(obviously both sides will make some concessions here and there) a deal. Now the sanctions we placed on them has been lifted and they are now open for business, investment and growth from the whole world. They can now buy any shiny new toys they want. :enjoy:

Crazy fat Kim dynasty is the only fat stupid crazy regime not to give a damn and carry on with its provocations without caring about the consequences to its people and country as long as he stays in power. Lol Plus if he can make use of the fact that Obama is one of the most diplomatic/friendly U.S president in history to make a deal with thee U.S, then I dont see N.Korea ever getting out of this virtuous cycle of sanctions and isolation ever. :disagree:

They want the stick we will give them a very BIG one.:)
