We haven’t seen Star Wars like holograms in real life, until now that is. A brand new device called the Holus is aiming to change that.

If you have ever thought that the apps and movies in your smart phone have been flat and lifeless, a company called H+ Technology may have a solution. It’s crowdfunding the Holus, a tabletop display that turns 2D content material from many sources into 3D holograms inside a glass pyramid which you can see from any direction. All you need to do is plug it in, after that, you may play digital board games, academic titles and many other types of apps. It is also set to incorporate functionality for eye trackers and even brainwave sensors. There’s even motion tracking that can ensure content follows you whenever you wander around.

Pakistani's will probably use this to surf facebook in 3D, whereas Indian might upgrade their "p0rn" watching.. (just kidding.. they can't afford it)

With the hologram being confined to a box this has no value. Stupid idea.

A glasses solution to project holograms is future. Microsoft are making hololens for Windows 10.

I disagree. There are a lot of practical uses for this, and it seems to be offer similar capabilities to the hololens, which suffers from severe FOV problems (which microsoft has said it will not address for the final consumer version), and a lack of practical tools on the market (basically, no one knows how to develop apps for it). Another issue that the hololens has is that everyone would need to buy it in order for everyone to see the hologram, where as you only seem to need one holus for everyone.

Hololens is a good idea, but the first version is going to be like the original iPhone, or original Kinect, a simple beta test for the next version. This, on the other hand, seems like that not only will it work out of the box, but it'll be more practical to develop for.

Anyway, there is a kickstarter for it, but I must always warn about the dangers of crowdfunding. If anyone decides to give their money, be forewarned, you may not ever see this product some out to the market.

VR and AR baby thats the future
This tech is pointless unless focused on as larger aspect ratios but it ll become a novelty and pointless really
