KARACHI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), National People’s Party (NPP) and Sindh Bachayo Committee (SBC) on Monday announced to observe a complete shutter-down and wheel-jam strike on November 30 in Sindh against misbehaviour shown by lawmakers of the Pakistan People’s Party during the recent session of the Sindh Assembly.

This was announced at a meeting presided over by PML-F Chief Pir Pagaro at his residence and attended by all member parties of SBC, including Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Sindh United Party (SUP), Jeay Sindh Tahreek (JST), Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP), Sindh National Movement (SNM), Awami Tahreek (AT) and Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM), NPP and Awami National Party (ANP).

Pagaro said that all the nationalist parties, besides NPP and ANP, had strongly condemned the foul and unparliamentary language used by PPP MPAs and ministers against the members of PML-F and NPP, particularly against their female members.

“We have decided to observe a black day and complete shutter-down strike against that confronting attitude and the Sindh People’s Local Government Act (SPLGA), 2012. We also announce detachment from a petition filed by Zamir Ghumro in Supreme Court of Pakistan against SPLGO/Act. 2012”, Pagaro said.

He claimed: “Late Zulifkar Ali Bhutto had launched a mega project of Kalabagh Dam in 1973, and late Benazir Bhutto sanctioned budget during her tenure in 1989, which was a record of history,” he added.

PML-F chief said he had accused the founder chairman of PPP Zulifkar Ali Bhutto and its chairperson and former prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for launching anti-Sindh project in the name of ‘mega project of Kalabagh dam’. Pagaro further said, “Kalabagh dam was the idea of PPP regime and now it should decide whether it was legal or illegal.”

Responding to allegations being labeled as an agent of Army by PPP leaders, he said, “Yes he was the agent of Pakistan Army which belong to his own country and asked PPP leaders to recall the time when many of PPP leaders were rewarded titles of ‘Sir’ and Khan Bahadur by the British Army. He said, “British Army had given those titles and later
they betrayed their our people and motherland.”

Pagaro said that he accepted traitor’s title given by British rulers and history conferred on him the label ‘hero of the nation’.

Replying to a query, he said that the petitioner, Zamir Ghumro, was member of SBC and their companion of earlier days of struggle against SPLGO/Act, but he had decided to file a petition in the darkness of night without informing them.

SUP chief Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, STPP Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi, Chairman JSQM, central leaders of JSQM Asif Baladi, Maqsood Qureshi and President SNM Ali Hassan Chandio, central leader ANP Zahid Khan and were also present at the meeting.
