Infographs of "Airbus A400M"

But I have heard that IAF is looking in to order about:
20 more C-17s and also 20+ C-130J-30s as well but may be due to elections their is a delay or it might be possible the IAF will step up and will eventually handle the situation on their own.

My friend, we are having a policy of homogenizing as much as possible. Getting the Grizzlies in would make our transport fleet complicated too.

We're looking for three main transport platforms:

1- C-17 for heavy lifting
2- C-130J for tactical deployment
3- HAL/IL-214 for light to medium lifting (project on-going)

Other than these, we are also operating upgraded An-32s which still have a decent shelf life left.

Getting a European platform in the middle will just complicate everything.

Also Japanese US-2s are the ones which Indian coast guards will buy in good numbers to over come the SAR and other roles in Indian Ocean. I think 14 of them would be good?

The number has not been decided.

Although the Navy was look for 6 amphibious capable aircraft.

Wonder if it would be an internal transfer or would be held by Naval transport wing.

C-17 and C-5 can do that as well. So can Antonov 124 and 225

turbofans are not efficient for short range missions, and they are more prone to ingest FOD.
Another problem is the use of reverse thrusters on an unprepared runway. They blast all the dirt in the air for the fan the to ingest.
