The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) has completed the deployment of an integrated air-defence system supplied by Indra Sistemas, the Spanish company announced on 27 May.
"The system has several command-and-control centres and radars of different ranges," Indra said, adding that it merges the radar data as well as data from other sources to provide an "integrated view of the air situation" so that the RAFO can plan, execute, and track military missions, as well as monitor the sultanate's airspace.
A company spokesperson told Jane's that contractual restrictions mean the company cannot comment on the number and type of radars that have been supplied to Oman or the extent to which the sultanate's new National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) have been integrated into the network.
